This All-Inclusive Giant Is Pouring Nearly One Billion Dollars Into Its Family Brand — and Doubling Its Footprint
Sandals is investing nearly one billion dollars to expand Beaches Resorts, with new properties planned in Barbados, the Bahamas, Jamaica, and St. Vincent.
Sandals Resorts International is committing nearly one billion dollars to expand Beaches Resorts, its family-focused all-inclusive brand, with plans to double the number of Beaches properties over the next five years.
The expansion includes several major projects already in motion. A 600-room Beaches Barbados broke ground in late 2025, with room categories ranging from king suites to four-bedroom family suites. In the Bahamas, the existing Sandals Emerald Bay is being converted into Beaches Exuma. And in Jamaica, a new Beaches Runaway Bay is in the pipeline.
The company's flagship Beaches Turks and Caicos recently completed a significant expansion with the addition of Treasure Beach Village, pushing the property's total room count to 858 — making it one of the largest all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean.
A new Beaches property in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is also in the works, giving the brand its first footprint in that destination.
A Bet on Family Travel
The investment reflects a broader industry shift. Family all-inclusive travel has grown faster than the adults-only segment in recent years, driven by parents looking for the convenience of bundled pricing and kid-friendly programming without sacrificing quality. Beaches has historically had limited inventory — just two operating properties — which has made it difficult for the brand to meet demand.
Travel advisors have responded enthusiastically to the expansion plans. Beaches existing properties consistently rank among the most-booked family all-inclusives, and the lack of available rooms has been a long-standing pain point for agents trying to place clients.
The near-billion-dollar commitment from Sandals signals that the company sees family travel as a critical growth engine — and is willing to invest at a scale that few competitors can match.
