What separates Royalton Negril from the half-dozen other large all-inclusives on Seven Mile Beach is its three-section layout: a main family area, a Diamond Club tier with butler service and exclusive beach access, and a fully separate adults-only Hideaway section. Guests booking the Hideaway get their own pool with swim-up bar, their own beach stretch, and their own lounge — effectively a second resort inside the same gates. The beach itself fronts Bloody Bay, the northern section of Seven Mile Beach, which tends to be quieter and less vendor-heavy than the stretch in front of the town.
This resort works well for mixed-generation trips where some adults want a quieter experience while families with kids occupy the main pool area. The Kids Club (ages 4–12) runs structured programming and the splash park keeps younger guests busy for hours. Couples wanting a genuinely secluded, romantic setting should look at adults-only options in Negril — the Hideaway is solid but still shares resort infrastructure with 407 total rooms.
The most consistent complaint in guest reviews is the check-in process: waits of 90 minutes or more are common, and some guests report room maintenance issues (faulty A/C, broken jacuzzi jets) not resolved promptly. Restaurant reservations at Zen teppanyaki can be difficult to secure beyond the first night — the teppanyaki tables fill fast. Beach vendors from the public portion of the beach occasionally approach guests, which the resort cannot fully prevent.
The resort has 407 rooms and suites, 8–9 restaurants, 7 bars, and sits 75–90 minutes from Sangster International Airport (MBJ) in Montego Bay. The DreamBed mattresses appear in every room category. Wi-Fi is included across the property. Diamond Club rooms carry premium pricing but come with butler service, exclusive pool access, and premium spirits — worth evaluating if private lounges and reduced crowds matter to you.
Negril's best sunsets are on Seven Mile Beach, and Royalton's west-facing beach position means you'll catch them directly from the sand. Rick's Café cliff-diving is a 10-minute drive and worth an afternoon excursion. The Luminous Lagoon boat tour at night runs from nearby Falmouth.
