This Canadian Airline Is Adding Three Nonstop Routes to One Jamaica Airport This Winter
A Canadian carrier is launching nonstop service to Montego Bay from three cities this winter, adding nearly 5,000 seats for the peak season.
Porter Airlines is adding three new nonstop routes to Montego Bay for the 2026-27 winter season, connecting Jamaica's Sangster International Airport directly to three Canadian cities. The expansion adds close to 5,000 seats to the market during the peak travel window.
Service from Toronto Pearson starts November 23 with up to five flights a week. Ottawa follows on November 25 with twice-weekly service, and Hamilton launches December 20 with two flights a week — making Porter the only carrier flying nonstop between Hamilton and Montego Bay. The flights use Porter's Embraer E195-E2 jets, which run a no-middle-seat layout across the cabin.
For Jamaica, the added lift lands at a useful moment. Montego Bay is the gateway for a dense cluster of resorts, from Sandals Montego Bay to Royalton Blue Waters, and more nonstop options from Canada make those properties easier to reach without a connection.
The move also underscores how aggressively airlines are chasing Caribbean sun routes for the coming winter. Direct service tends to move the needle on where travelers book, and three fresh Canadian connections into a single airport is a meaningful vote of confidence in Montego Bay's pull.
