Club Med Bintan Adds Asia's First Amazing Family Hub and a Full Resort Refresh
Club Med Bintan Island is adding Asia's first Amazing Family Hub, redesigned rooms, a Splash Pad, and new sports through 2026, with more upgrades due in 2027.
Club Med Bintan Island is in the middle of a family-focused refresh that puts Asia's first Amazing Family Hub on the Indonesian island resort, alongside redesigned rooms, a Splash Pad, and new sports courts. Club Med is staging the work through the end of 2026, with a deeper Kids Club update and a new Grill Gourmet Club planned for 2027.
What families will notice first
The Amazing Family Hub is a 300-square-metre indoor playground and lounge built for mixed ages: curated activity zones, interactive games, and places for parents to sit without losing sight of younger kids. It is the first of its kind for Club Med in Asia, so Bintan becomes the regional test bed for how the brand wants multi-generational trips to feel when the beach is not the only shared activity.
Younger guests also get a Splash Pad in the main resort centre. Sports inventory now includes padel and pickleball next to Club Med classics such as flying trapeze, archery, and water sports. That mix matters for North American families who already book Club Med for the included activity depth and want a Southeast Asia trip that does not collapse into a pool-only week.
Rooms and dining are changing with the play spaces
Superior, Deluxe, and Suite categories are being redesigned through late 2026 with natural materials and Indonesian textures. Deluxe Themed Rooms add a more playful option for families who want the room itself to feel like part of the holiday, not just a sleep box between circus class and dinner.
Dining updates already include a revitalised Panorama Barista Bar overlooking the South China Sea and Terrace Gourmet Club with local flavours and French-inspired plates on the beach. The 2027 Grill Gourmet Club is positioned as a more communal dinner space. Boutique stock now includes limited-edition resort wear from French designer Mathilde Cabanas, shared across Bintan, Kani, and Phuket.
Why this refresh is timed for family demand
Club Med Southeast Asia and Pacific CEO Rachael Harding framed the project as creating spaces that keep parents and children in the same orbit without forcing a single pace. That is the guest so-what: if you are shopping Bintan for a 2026 or early 2027 trip, ask which room categories have finished renovation, whether the Amazing Family Hub is open on your dates, and which dining venues are still under soft launch. The resort remains Green Globe certified, with turtle conservation and food-waste programs still in the pitch, but the booking question is simpler. Confirm the family infrastructure is live before you pay for the long-haul flights.
