The resort's claim to the largest Sports School within the Club Med network is its primary differentiator. This translates to more professional instruction and court/facility investment than most Club Med properties: flying trapeze, aerial yoga, tennis, archery, sailing, kayaking, and a full aquatic program all operate at a level of instruction that goes beyond typical resort animation. The proximity to the Ria Bintan Golf Club (an award-winning 18-hole course) and the on-site turtle conservation program add further depth to the activity portfolio.
This is a family-oriented property with a clear second audience: Singapore's weekend-escape market, where a visa-free Bintan trip is a quick regional break. The result is a resort that can feel domestic-holiday in energy on weekends and more internationally oriented mid-week. The beach — 2.5 km of private white sand — is the physical anchor.
The honest limitation is room age. Opened in 1997 and last renovated in 2017, phased upgrades are underway from June 2025 through December 2026. Some rooms are meaningfully dated. The ongoing renovation will generate noise during certain periods — guests should inquire about current construction status at booking. Basic amenity consistency (combs, toiletry replenishment) has been noted as inconsistent. Strong ocean currents occasionally restrict swimming directly from the beach — the resort communicates conditions daily.
