Stunning Design & Ambiance
Guests consistently praise the resort's beautiful contemporary architecture and its seamless integration with the natural mangrove surroundings, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
Exceptional Culinary Experience
The quality and variety of food across Ventus Ha' and the entire El Cid complex receive excellent feedback, with innovative cuisine and diverse dining options being a major draw.
Attentive & Friendly Staff
The resort's staff are frequently highlighted for their friendly, helpful, and attentive service, contributing significantly to a positive guest experience.
Luxurious & Spacious Suites
Rooms are highly rated for their cleanliness, comfort, and spaciousness, often featuring modern amenities like balconies with hammocks that enhance the stay.
Access to Comprehensive Amenities
The unique benefit of having full access to all services, restaurants, and bars across the wider El Cid Riviera Maya Complex is a significant advantage, offering extensive choices.
Time-Share Pressure
A recurring concern is the persistent pressure from sales staff regarding time-share presentations, which can detract from the relaxation of the holiday.
Beach Condition
The beach, while accessible, can be rocky in areas and has reportedly been affected by storms, leading to less pristine sandy stretches.
Limited Natural Light in Lower Rooms
Guests on lower floors sometimes note a lack of natural daylight due to the lush vegetation and balcony structures, which can make rooms feel darker.
Advance Dinner Reservations
It is often advised to book à la carte dinner reservations well in advance, as popular restaurants can fill up quickly, leading to potential disappointment.

Ventus Ha' is the quietest of the three El Cid properties in Puerto Morelos, which is exactly the point. Opened in late 2021, this 150-suite boutique sits among the mangroves rather than on the beach — a deliberate design choice that gives rooms lush green views but means guests need a golf cart or short walk to reach the water. If you want to open your balcony door and step directly onto sand, this is not your resort. If you want a serene, design-forward base with excellent dining access, it may be exactly right.
The key selling point is the El Cid exchange privilege: Ventus Ha' guests can dine, drink, and use facilities at both Ventus at Marina El Cid and Hotel Marina El Cid next door at no extra charge. On-site you have two restaurants — A'akat for Ibero-American cuisine cooked over firewood and Kobo for teppanyaki — plus two adults-only rooftop pool bars. Combined with the neighboring properties' 10+ additional restaurants, you have serious dining variety despite the small room count.
The honest complaint in guest reviews is the timeshare sales pitch at check-in. Multiple guests describe it as aggressive and time-consuming. This is the single most consistent negative in reviews and worth knowing before arrival. A firm, early refusal works, but expect it.
Practically: 150 suites, all-inclusive rate covers meals, mid-tier spirits, non-motorized water sports, and fitness classes. Suites start at 450 sq ft with private hammock balconies. Platinum Club tiers add butler service, private lounge access, and binoculars for bird-watching (genuinely useful given the mangrove setting). Cancun airport is 20-30 minutes north on Highway 307. The resort is a 4-star property geared toward couples, honeymooners, and small families wanting a calmer Riviera Maya alternative to the Cancun strip.
