Exceptional Service
Guests consistently praise the staff for being incredibly friendly, attentive, and going above and beyond to provide personalized service, particularly butlers for Platinum Club members.
World-Class Dining
The variety and quality of food, especially at the gourmet Mercado de Dolores and specialty restaurants like Kobo, receive high commendation for offering a truly refined gastronomic experience.
Modern & Pristine Facilities
The resort's contemporary design, immaculate rooms, and exceptionally well-maintained gardens and pool areas contribute significantly to a luxurious and comfortable stay.
Impressive Pool Selection
The diverse array of pools, including large main pools, adults-only infinity options, and swim-up suites, is a major draw, catering to all preferences for relaxation and fun.
Luxurious & Spacious Suites
Rooms are consistently described as large, clean, modern, and elegantly styled, offering superior comfort with amenities like private balconies and hammocks.
Beachfront Condition
Some guests express disappointment with the beach, noting the presence of sandbags for seagrass mitigation and daily efforts required to remove natural debris.
Inconsistent Specialty Dining
While generally high, the quality or service at certain specialty restaurants, such as the French option, is occasionally reported as inconsistent or requiring long waits.
Extra Fees & Wi-Fi Costs
Guests frequently voice frustration over mandatory additional fees like environmental taxes, lodging taxes, and resort fees, which are not always clearly upfront in booking prices, and potential extra charges for Wi-Fi.

The swim-up suites are the reason most couples choose Ventus at Marina El Cid over its sister properties. Ground-floor rooms step directly from private patios into a pool — a practical luxury that works especially well for couples who want to be in the water constantly without competing for pool space. Combined with the resort's 290-suite scale and the El Cid complex's multi-property exchange privileges, this is the busiest and most feature-rich of the three El Cid properties.
Opened in 2020 and renovated in 2024 (spa facilities and ocean-view suites upgraded), Ventus sits in Puerto Morelos village about 20-28 km south of Cancun airport — roughly a 25-minute drive. The El Cid exchange program is the defining operational feature: guests can eat, drink, and use facilities at both Ventus Ha' and Hotel Marina El Cid at no extra charge, which means 13+ total dining venues across the complex. On its own, Ventus has French fine-dining at Île de France, teppanyaki at Kobo, and the Mercado de Dolores food hall with seven live cooking stations — the food hall alone is worth building a day around.
The honest criticism guests return to in reviews is seagrass. The beach at Ventus is affected seasonally, and sandbags are visible where staff try to contain it. The resort cleans daily and conditions improve in the drier season (December through April), but guests who specifically want a pristine white-sand beach without seaweed should look at properties further south. This is the single most consistent complaint.
Practically: 290 all-suite rooms, all-inclusive rate covers meals and premium spirits, fitness access, daily entertainment, non-motorized water sports. El Cocay Spa has 20 treatment rooms post-2024 renovation. Kids' Club runs 9 AM to 9 PM for ages 4–12; Teen Club at Marina El Cid runs noon to 8 PM. Upper-tier Platinum Club adds butler service, guaranteed oceanfront views, palapa reservations, and private lounge access.
