Royalton CHIC Antigua opened in May 2024, making it one of the newest properties in Antigua. It was built on the site of the former Halcyon Cove Hotel and brought with it the only overwater restaurant on the island — Pescari — as well as overwater bungalows with private plunge pools. Dickenson Bay, where the resort sits, is one of Antigua's most consistent swimming beaches: calm, shallow entry, and protected from the Atlantic swells that affect the island's rougher northern coast.
The resort's "Party Your Way" concept is explicitly social in orientation. The pool is designed for DJs, foam parties, and themed events rather than quiet lap swimming. Singles, couples, and groups who want a socially energetic vacation — think cocktail hours and themed nights rather than spa days and sunset dinners — are the primary audience. Guests wanting peace and quiet, particularly after 10 PM, will find the vibe less compatible. This is not a property that shuts down at 9.
As a property that opened in 2024, CHIC Antigua is working through early-stage growing pains. Guest reviews note service inconsistencies — specific staff members receive strong praise, while others underperform. Room service is described as slow or unreliable by a meaningful percentage of guests. These issues typically improve as a new resort stabilizes, but expect some variability in your first few years of the resort's operation.
Practically: V.C. Bird International Airport is about 12 km from the resort — a 15-minute transfer, which is unusually convenient for the Caribbean. The property has 235 rooms for adults 18 and over. Overwater suite categories start at 1,138 sq ft and go up to 3,049 sq ft. Standard rooms start at 323 sq ft — smaller than Royalton's other properties. Budget for the Tourism Guest Levy (approximately $3–5 USD per person per night) which is collected separately.
