Princess Grand Jamaica is a newly built (2024, reopened March 2026 after Hurricane Melissa repairs) large-format family resort in Green Island, Hanover — a location most visitors reach from Montego Bay's Sangster International Airport, about 55 km and one hour away by road. The drive can extend to two or three hours in peak traffic, which is worth knowing before booking rather than after landing.
The resort's differentiator is the 'dual resort experience' with the adjacent Princess Senses The Mangrove. Family guests can cross into the adults-only property for its restaurants, bars, and pool facilities, while adults-only guests from The Mangrove get access to Princess Grand's Aquatic Park. This arrangement makes both properties more versatile for groups mixing families and couples — a multi-generational travel feature that not many Caribbean resort pairs offer.
The property targets families and groups specifically. 590 suites, a water park with four slides, Club Rio Kids (ages 3–12 with seven themed areas), a teen club, and a Platinum Club tier for guests who want an elevated experience within the same resort. The Jamaican food truck and Fusion 360 Asian restaurant receive the strongest dining reviews; the breakfast buffet gets consistently good feedback.
The honest limitation is that this is a large resort that can feel impersonal at scale. Guests accustomed to boutique or smaller all-inclusive properties will find the 590-suite volume and correspondingly busy pools a different experience. The beach is private white sand but reviews mention the property is still establishing its service consistency as a newer opening.
