Voaara Grenadines (Palm Island)

Palm Island Resort on private Palm Island in St. Vincent and the Grenadines is currently closed. Hurricane Beryl struck on July 1, 2024, and the former Elite Island Resorts all-inclusive property is not accepting guests. The island is being rebuilt as Voaara Grenadines, the second resort in the Voaara Hotels barefoot-luxury collection after Voaara Madagascar.

When will Palm Island Grenadines reopen? The dedicated official Voaara Grenadines page (voaara.com/grenadines/) currently states Opening 2027. Prefer that line for planner copy. The Voaara homepage still shows Coming December 2026 for Voaara Grenadines, and several attributed trade announcements from September to October 2025 (Recommend, Aspire Travel Club, JVPR, St. Vincent Times debut coverage) also said December 2026. Those dates conflict with the dedicated page. Confirm on voaara.com before booking air or deposits.

In November 2025, St. Vincent and the Grenadines government coverage (iWitness News, St. Vincent Times, Searchlight) reported a US$100 million investment agreement with Limestone & Palm Island Resorts Ltd. / investor Zachary Bayman to redevelop Palm Island Resort and Spa and the Anchorage Yacht Club on nearby Union Island. Ceremony reporting places the signing around November 17, 2025. iWitness attributes a 20-to-30-month rebuild window and a luxury five-star hotel rebuild on Palm Island. At the signing, Bayman referenced the arrival of Voaara Resort and luxury residences. That government deal is the local redevelopment frame; Voaara Hotels is the public hospitality brand for the Palm Island reopen.

Phase One inventory is not fully locked across sources. Attributed Voaara trade and brand PR (Recommend, Aspire, JVPR, St. Vincent Times debut) describe Phase One as 25 bungalows and one villa, with more private villas planned and some ownership villas. iWitness quotes Prime Minister Gonsalves describing 34 freestanding hotel bungalows (24 one-bedroom and 10 two-bedroom suites) plus plans for 31 three- and four-bedroom private villas. Resort Flock leaves room count unset until Voaara publishes a single Phase One key count. Pre-closure Palm Island under Elite Island was commonly cited around the low-40s rooms and villas. Do not treat pre-closure room categories as Voaara inventory.

Because a kids' club appears in that government description, the old Palm Island adults-only label is not carried forward without a Voaara age policy. All-inclusive status for Voaara Grenadines is not confirmed on the official pages checked; pre-closure Palm Island was all-inclusive under Elite Island.

Location logistics for North American planners stay island-hopping heavy. Palm Island is a private island in the Southern Grenadines, reached via Union Island and a short boat transfer in the pre-closure pattern. Voaara marketing positions island-hopping to Tobago Cays, Bequia, Mustique, Canouan, and Union Island. Confirm current airlift into Union Island or other Grenadines gateways and the boat transfer once Voaara publishes arrival instructions. Community recovery after Beryl is part of both government and brand messaging (local hiring and training language in trade coverage).

Honest fit: guests who want a small-scale barefoot-luxury private-island reopen in the Grenadines, are willing to wait for 2027 official timing (or later if construction slips), and can handle multi-leg Caribbean logistics. Poor fit for anyone who needs a bookable 2026 stay today, a confirmed all-inclusive inclusions list, or the old Elite Island Palm Island product.
