Ocean Coral Spring opened in December 2019 as a new-build five-star property in Trelawny, the quieter stretch of Jamaica's north coast between Montego Bay and Falmouth. At 513 suites, the resort is large but was designed from the start with a wide range of facilities: a lazy river, a family water park with multiple slides, a bowling alley, two tennis courts, and a multi-sports court are all included in the all-inclusive rate.
The dining program is one of the more genuinely varied among Jamaican all-inclusives. Ten restaurants cover Italian (La Locanda), Jamaican/Caribbean (Sugar Cane), Japanese teppanyaki (Sakura), Indian (Thali), American (Route 66), and a dedicated buffet (Martha's Market with show cooking). The Sugar Cane and Thali restaurants distinguish this from typical Caribbean resort dining, where Indian cuisine is particularly unusual. Mike's Coffee serves specialty drinks throughout the day.
Adjacentally, Ocean Eden Bay (the adults-only property that opened two years later) shares the same beach and infrastructure. Coral Spring guests can use Eden Bay facilities, and vice versa — an arrangement that gives both properties broader amenity access than their standalone footprints would suggest.
Families are genuinely accommodated: the Daisy Club covers ages 4–12, the Teenclub covers ages 13–17 with dedicated gaming and social space, and the water park is designed for families rather than just young children. The beach has direct access to Jamaica's north coast, though some sections can be rocky — the calm bay areas are better for swimming than the open-coast sections.
The honest limitation is that Trelawny is further from Montego Bay's nightlife and shopping than properties directly on the Hip Strip. The drive to Falmouth (5 min) or Montego Bay (35–45 min) covers most off-property options, but guests who want to walk to town from the resort are in the wrong location.
