The Iberostar Slavija is one of the smaller Iberostar properties in Europe, with 126 rooms in a renovated 2019 building in Budva, Montenegro. It sits close enough to Slovenska Beach (250 to 450 meters) and Budva's walled Old Town (walkable) that the location does the heavy lifting. Tivat Airport is the nearest hub at 21 to 24 km — about an hour's drive depending on road conditions. Podgorica Airport is also an option at 39 to 67 km.
Unlike most of the Iberostar portfolio, this is not an all-inclusive property. Bed and breakfast and half-board are the available options, which means dining costs add up for guests who eat and drink freely. This is worth being explicit about when comparing it against Iberostar's Caribbean or Canary Islands properties. That said, the half-board dinner quality is generally praised for freshness and variety.
The rooftop infinity pool is the single most discussed amenity in guest reviews — panoramic views of Budva, the Adriatic, and surrounding mountains. It's seasonal (closed November through April), which matters for anyone visiting outside the summer months. The outdoor ground-level pool is available more broadly but less dramatic. The spa has sauna, steam, and hammam access included for guests, which is unusual and genuinely valued.
Families with children of all ages are welcome — cots are available on request. There is no kids' club or organized child activities, which is a limitation for younger families who need structured entertainment. The hotel is better suited to couples or adults who want a stylish base for exploring Montenegro's coast and Old Town rather than a self-contained resort.
