Exceptional Service

Stunning Grounds & Wildlife
The meticulously maintained tropical grounds and the presence of various wildlife are highly praised, creating a beautiful and immersive environment.
Fantastic Water Features
The impressive water park, including the wave pool, lazy river, and slides, is a huge hit with families and guests, offering endless fun.
Impeccable Cleanliness
The resort maintains a very high standard of cleanliness across all areas, from rooms to public spaces and grounds, receiving widespread positive remarks.
Prime Beachfront Location
Its position between Cancun and Playa del Carmen, with direct access to a beautiful Blue Flag beach, is highly valued for convenience and scenic beauty.
À La Carte Reservations
Securing desired times and venues for specialty restaurants can be frustrating, requiring guests to book immediately upon arrival.
Resort Size & Mobility
The vastness of the property means a lot of walking, and the internal shuttle system is not always frequent or reliable, which can be a drawback for some.
Dated Room Decor
While clean and comfortable, some guests note that certain rooms could benefit from a refresh in decor to match the aesthetic of newer resorts.
Sargassum & Pool Chairs
Like many Riviera Maya resorts, sargassum can impact beach swimming. Additionally, competition for pool chairs often leads to early morning 'reserving' by guests.

The Iberostar Selection Paraíso Lindo opened in 2002 and underwent renovation in 2023, giving it updated rooms while keeping the traditional Mexican village architectural style. It sits on Playa Paraíso between Cancún and Playa del Carmen — about 37 km from Cancún airport, typically a 30–45 minute drive.
The water park is what separates this property from comparable Riviera Maya all-inclusives. The wave pool is the only one operating in the Riviera Maya; it runs for 20 minutes every hour and draws consistent lines at peak times. The lazy river and seven water slides (within the Aquafun Waterpark section) add enough variety for repeat sessions. A separate children's area includes smaller slides and a pirate ship. Seven pool areas total — including a swim-up bar pool and a dedicated activity pool — give guests flexibility when the water park is busy.
The dining program has depth: El Museo has been operating as the French restaurant here for over 12 years — an unusual continuity for a resort specialty venue. Jambalaya (Cajun), El Fogon Steak House, Fogon Italiano, and Lemon & Spices Greek Tavern round out the evening à la carte options. Taki-to is a taco bar at the Playa Paraíso Shopping Center, a useful casual option. La Pagoda runs as the 24-hour international buffet with themed Mexican and gala evenings. All specialty restaurants require reservations; book immediately at check-in.
Complex exchange access expands the effective resort significantly. Guests can use pools, restaurants, and facilities at Paraíso del Mar and Paraíso Beach, with limited access to Paraíso Maya Suites. This matters on days when Lindo's water park is crowded — neighboring pools are accessible alternatives. The exchange does not include Iberostar Grand Paraíso.
SPA Sensations spans 32,000 square feet with 15 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy circuit (saltwater pool, cold plunge, footbath, jacuzzi, sauna, steam bath), and a relaxation garden with hammocks. Hydrotherapy circuit access is included; massages, facials, and body treatments carry extra charges. The spa's scale relative to the property's 448 rooms is notable — the ratio is more favorable than many comparable resorts.
Star Camp runs for children 4–17 (Monkey, Dolphin, Eagle), with the teen program including a Galaxy Disco for guests over 18. The Blue Flag beach (Playa Paraíso) is White sand with generally calm water, though seasonal sargassum affects swimming conditions. Water shoes are useful — some areas near ocean entry have scattered rocks.
