The Iberostar Selection Lanzarote Park opened in 1987 and underwent extensive renovation in 2016. Its design draws from César Manrique's architectural philosophy — the Lanzarote artist who shaped the island's distinctive low-rise, nature-integrated aesthetic. The property is built in three 'zocos' (circular courtyard clusters) that maximize ocean views and minimize visual bulk. This creates a more intimate internal architecture than the block-style construction common in mass-market resorts.
Playa Blanca is Lanzarote's quietest resort town — less animated than Puerto del Carmen or Costa Teguise, which suits guests who prefer a peaceful environment. Flamingo Beach is 50 meters from the property — essentially direct access to clean sand and calm, sheltered water. The resort is 30 km from Lanzarote Airport (ACE), a 30-minute drive.
The property serves two distinct guest populations simultaneously: families with children and adults in the Star Prestige program. The family side is well-equipped: a dedicated splash park with eight slides, three children's pool areas, a Baby Club for under-3s, and age-segmented clubs (Monkey, Dolphin, Eagle, 0–17). The Star Prestige side has a separate pool, dedicated restaurant with refined Canarian cuisine, lounge, and bar. Both sides operate effectively without significant intrusion.
The sustainability program is among the more ambitious in the Iberostar portfolio — a zero-waste operations goal for Lanzarote specifically, active participation in Wave of Change initiatives, and responsible seafood throughout the dining program.
Seven swimming pools total, including the Star Prestige exclusive pool and an indoor pool for year-round use. The heated pool is particularly useful in Lanzarote's shoulder season when outdoor pools can be uncomfortably cool.
