Impeccable Cleanliness
The resort maintains a high standard of cleanliness across all areas, from rooms and pools to the beach, which is frequently noted and appreciated.

Prime Beachfront Location
Its excellent location in the Hotel Zone, offering direct beach access and quick airport proximity, is highly valued by guests for convenience and views.
Dated Room Decor
While clean and comfortable, some guests feel that certain room interiors appear dated and could benefit from more extensive, modern renovations.
Restaurant Reservation & Hours
Guests occasionally encounter difficulties securing reservations for specialty restaurants and find their operating hours to be somewhat restrictive.
Inconsistent Poolside Service
Drink service by the pools can sometimes be slow, prompting guests to seek out bars themselves or experience longer waiting times.

Best Family-Friendly All-Inclusive Resorts
Iberostar's flagship Cancun property features the Star Camp program for ages 4-15, a pirate ship-themed pool with an Aqua Fun slides complex, and consistently praised children's entertainment staff. Strong mid-to-upper-tier value.
Resort Flock Picks
Iberostar Selection Cancún was formerly the Caesar Park hotel — a legacy that explains its unusually large footprint and the convention center on the grounds. Iberostar acquired and rebuilt it, with the current property operating since 2011/2012 and receiving room updates in November 2023. The Hotel Zone location means the beach is Caribbean-facing, which gives it calmer water than the Gulf side — and a better beach by most measures.
The main differentiators are the 18-hole championship golf course on-site (rare in Hotel Zone, where most golf requires a transfer), an actual pre-Columbian museum on the grounds, and the Coral Level adults-only tower. The Coral Level operates as a premium tier within the same resort: private check-in, 24-hour room service (standard guests get 11 AM–11 PM), dedicated lounge, and adults-only pool access. Guests who book standard rooms should not expect Coral Level amenities.
The 10 pools include a Caribbean-facing infinity pool and a children's splash park with slides and fountains. The Star Camp covers ages 4–12, with a teen club for older children. This works for families who want structured programming, but the resort's size and the Hotel Zone's general energy make it less intimate than smaller properties.
The honest operational note: with 18 venues and a large property, quality is uneven across the dining program. La Parrilla Steak House and El Maguey (beachfront Mexican with ocean views) are the consistently well-reviewed options for specialty dining. The Antiguo Laguito buffet runs until 1 AM with late-night snacks — genuinely useful for guests arriving late or staying out.
Practically: 426 rooms and suites. All-inclusive covers all 18 venues. Golf is extra charge. Transfer from Cancún Airport (CUN) is 15–18 minutes — one of the quickest arrivals in the Hotel Zone.
