For Playa de Muro beach
Foundation for Environmental Education
Playa de Muro is one of the consistently highest-rated beaches in mainland Spain for family swimming: the water is shallow enough that children can walk out 30 metres and still be waist-deep, the bottom is sandy without rocks, and the clarity makes it easy to supervise from the shore. Iberostar Waves Playa de Muro sits directly on it. That beach access — not the dining or the spa — is the actual reason families keep choosing this property over the competition on the island.
The cycling facilities are the secondary differentiator. A dedicated cycling center with bike storage, a workshop, a wash station, and rental bikes is an unusual investment for an all-inclusive resort. The road cycling in northern Majorca (the Tramuntana mountain routes) is internationally recognized, and the resort is a legitimate base for cycling guests. Combined with free tennis courts in summer and a 25-metre heated indoor pool, the active-traveler infrastructure here is better than average for Iberostar.
The honest drawback is noise in certain room locations. The family rooms get clustered together, and walls are thin enough that nighttime disturbance is a documented issue. Bathroom layouts in some rooms have glass walls around the toilet — a privacy concern flagged repeatedly in reviews. The outdoor pools are unheated and can be cold outside of July–August; the indoor pool solves this problem but has adults-only hours from 3–7 PM.
Practically: 447 rooms, all-inclusive, 60–62 km from Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) — about 50 minutes. The Gust à la carte restaurant (one complimentary dinner per stay for AI guests) specializes in Mallorcan rice dishes and charcoal-grilled fish; it's worth booking on arrival. Beach loungers are extra charge and not managed by the resort.
