Rating8.1Adults OnlyActivity density at Riu Republica is among the highest of any Punta Cana resort. Multiple Riu Pool Parties per week are the centerpiece — included transportation, DJs, drinks. Non-motorized watersports, fitness classes, beach volleyball, and daily adult entertainment are all included. The on-site casino (extra charge) operates independently.
Large infinity pool with sun terrace. One of two non-themed main pools — moderate energy level during daytime. Good base for a relaxed day between party events.
The second large infinity pool with a similar relaxed daytime vibe. Further from the main entertainment stage, making it slightly quieter.
Active swim-up bar pool, popular from late morning through afternoon. Full bar service without leaving the water.
Second swim-up bar pool. Slightly less crowded than Pool 1 on average — worth the extra walk.
Third swim-up pool. The Aquamar bar is adjacent — this area gets heavy use during Riu Pool Party events.
Four water slides for adults 18+. The only adults-only water park in the Caribbean. Slides range from moderate to fast — not extreme park-level thrills but genuinely fun. Opens at standard resort hours.
Shallow wading pool purpose-built for themed party events. DJs and entertainment gear set up around the perimeter. Not useful as a regular swimming pool.
The quietest pool on property — positioned away from the main entertainment areas. The best option for guests who want to float in peace.
Direct access to Arena Gorda, one of Punta Cana's wider, longer beaches. White sand with clear water and moderate wave action. The resort's private section has complimentary sun loungers and umbrellas. The beach bar with Jerk Station at the beach end is worth making a daily stop. Seaweed (sargassum) intrusion is seasonal — worst June through October and can significantly reduce the beach's appeal during peak months.
Included non-motorized watersports from the beach. Equipment at the watersports desk, no reservation needed.
Included. Shared catamaran rides from the beach. Times posted at the activity board.
Included gear at the beach watersports desk. Arena Gorda Beach has moderate snorkeling — clearer sites are a short boat ride away.
Pool-based intro lesson, included. Good for first-timers. Not a PADI certification course.
Included water polo and aqua aerobics in the pools. Aqua aerobics is the most popular morning activity — arrive 10 minutes early for pool position.
Beach volleyball, table tennis, handball, and gymnastics all included. Courts and equipment at the sports area.
24-hour gym included. Daily RiuFit group fitness in the dedicated outdoor area. Yoga classes also scheduled — check the Riu App for timing.
Included access at the Renova Spa. Good mid-day recovery option between beach and evening activities.
Entertainment team runs daily programming across the pool areas. High energy — if you want quiet pool time, aim for the relaxation pool away from the main stage.
Professional Riu evening shows at the amphitheater, live music nightly. Runs before the Pacha opening — good way to spend 9–11pm.
On-site nightclub, included admission and drinks, open six nights a week. The primary reason many guests choose Republica over comparable resorts.
Included multi-pool events with DJs, themed entertainment, drinks, and transportation within the resort. Several per week — times and themes posted on the Riu App.
White Party, Neon Party, and beach parties are included periodically. Check the weekly schedule at check-in for exact dates.
Extra charge. Nearby 18-hole championship course, not on the resort grounds.
Extra charge through beach vendors. Jet skis and parasailing available on Arena Gorda.
Extra charge. On-site casino operating independently of the all-inclusive package.
Extra charge. Saona Island catamaran day trip is the most popular off-property excursion from Punta Cana — book through the concierge, not beach vendors.
Extra charge. Samana Bay is the destination — a 3–4 hour drive from Punta Cana. Offered January through March only.
