Hotels.com
Hotel Creta Princess Aquapark & Spa sits directly on Maleme beach on Crete's northwest coast, 32 km and about 32 minutes from Chania International Airport. The Alua Hotels property had its main renovation in summer 2019, updating the main restaurant, bar, and adding a 250-square-meter spa center. The resort's primary draw is the two aquapark complexes — five waterslides across two separate pool areas — which make it one of the better-equipped family aquapark resorts in Crete at the 4-star level.
The all-inclusive program covers meals at the buffet restaurant and two a la carte venues (Mediterranean and Mura Asian), plus drinks, activities, and access to the Mini Club for children aged 4-12. The animation team runs a daily program from morning activities to evening shows and Greek nights — a standard structure for Crete's all-inclusive family market.
The beach is a genuine limitation worth stating clearly: Maleme beach is pebble and rock rather than soft sand. Guests consistently note the need for water shoes. This is typical for many of Crete's northwest coast beaches and the resort isn't misrepresenting itself, but guests expecting Mediterranean soft-sand should know in advance. Crete does have sandy beaches — you'd need to drive to find them from this location.
Practically: 4-star, family-focused, Chania airport access, pebble beach with in-water rocky sections, good aquapark for children. The price tier is mid-market for Crete — competitive against similar Cretan family all-inclusives without trying to compete with the island's luxury boutique properties.
