Exceptional Personalized Service
Staff anticipate needs before you ask, learn your name and drink preferences on day one, and communicate proactively via WhatsApp. Multiple reviewers cite the service as the best they have experienced at any resort worldwide.
Stunning Suite Design
Suites are genuinely spacious (900-3,000 sq ft) with sleek modern design, private terraces with jacuzzis or plunge pools, premium amenities from Dyson and Molton Brown, and dramatic Sea of Cortez views that guests find breathtaking.
Outstanding Culinary Program
Loto Robata Grill's Michelin-pedigree Japanese-fusion cuisine is a highlight, and access to the sister property's restaurants including the MICHELIN-starred Cocina de Autor gives guests exceptional dining variety.
Intimate Boutique Atmosphere
With only 79 suites, the property never feels crowded. Guests appreciate the peaceful, uncrowded pool, personal attention from staff, and the sophisticated adults-only ambiance.
Immaculate Presentation
Every detail is polished — from the bougainvillea-draped architecture to the daily minibar restocking with premium spirits. The property feels brand-new and is maintained to impeccable standards.
Non-Swimmable Beach
The Pacific Ocean at this stretch of Los Cabos has strong currents and is not safe for swimming. Guests looking for beach swimming will need to arrange shuttle transport to calmer bays.
Premium Price Point
Rates start around $1,200-1,400+ per night. While the all-inclusive package is comprehensive, some guests feel the spa surcharges and limited on-property dining variety don't fully justify the cost for longer stays.
Limited On-Site Restaurant Variety
Only Loto Robata Grill and Del Mar are on the boutique property. For dinner variety beyond Japanese-fusion, guests must walk to the adjacent Grand Velas Los Cabos — convenient but not seamless.
New Property Growing Pains
As a resort that opened in January 2024, some early guests reported minor inconsistencies in service timing and occasional menu limitations that are expected to smooth out as the property matures.

MICHELIN Guide
Grand Velas Boutique Hotel Los Cabos opened in January 2024 as the newest property in the Velas portfolio — 79 suites, adults only, positioned as a more intimate alternative to the 307-suite Grand Velas Los Cabos next door. The two properties share a coastal stretch at Km 17.3 of the Tourist Corridor, but the Boutique operates entirely independently with its own restaurants, spa, pool, and beach, while giving guests complimentary access to the larger resort's dining venues for dinner. The AAA Five Diamond designation arrived within months of opening — a fast recognition that reflects the quality Velas brought to bear from day one.
The differentiating element is Loto Robata Grill, overseen by two-Michelin-star Chef Sidney Schutte. Open-flame robata grilling with a Japanese-fusion approach, this is not standard all-inclusive fare and it doesn't pretend to be. Del Mar handles breakfast and lunch, with access to the full dining program at Grand Velas Los Cabos (including the MICHELIN-starred Cocina de Autor) available for dinner. The effective dining program is larger than the two on-site restaurants suggest.
Every suite starts at 888 square feet with a private terrace, outdoor jacuzzi or plunge pool, Dyson hair tools, Molton Brown amenities, and a daily-restocked premium minibar. The Se Spa operates on property with a Seven-Step Water Ceremony as the signature offering alongside a full treatment menu. The beach is direct access to the Sea of Cortez — but the water is not swimmable due to strong Pacific currents, which is standard for the Los Cabos corridor and not unique to this property. Guests wanting a swim should use the infinity pool.
Practically: 79 suites, adults only, opened January 2024, rates starting around $1,200-1,400+ USD per night. San Jose del Cabo International Airport is approximately 30-40 minutes. The price positions this above most all-inclusives globally — the justification is the intimacy, the Michelin-chef restaurant, and the Five Diamond service standards.
