Pros & Cons
Club Med Bodrum
Pros
- The protected Aegean cove beach is genuinely calm and clear — the Blue Flag certification and peninsula geography make this one of the better natural swimming beaches in Turkish resort territory
- Complimentary hammam access is a culturally authentic Turkish inclusion rarely offered free at an all-inclusive
- The Halikarnas restaurant serves genuine Turkish cuisine — sautéed octopus, lamb shoulder, traditional meze — not a generic 'international' specialty menu
- 29 included activities provides substantial variety for a 242-room property, including the complimentary boat trip around nearby bays
- Bodrum town is accessible by taxi for guests wanting local market, harbor, and castle experiences beyond the resort
- G.O. (Gentil Organisateur) staff are consistently praised for warmth, engagement, and genuine enthusiasm
Cons
- The beach has pebbled sections — soft sand throughout is not guaranteed, unlike some Caribbean alternatives
- Buffet variety has been noted as limited compared to other Club Med properties or the same resort in previous years
- The Summer 2025 renovation will improve room quality, but the pre-renovation condition in Villagio-category rooms is the documented weakness
- Additional charges apply for spa treatments, padel, scuba, and excursions — budget accordingly
- Milas-Bodrum Airport is approximately an hour away — not a short transfer
Sandals Grenada Resort & Spa
Pros
- Pink Gin Beach is genuinely calm and swimmable — sheltered cove geometry prevents the choppy surf that affects more exposed Caribbean beaches.
- Ten restaurants for 257 rooms is a high ratio, resulting in shorter waits and more consistent kitchen quality than larger Sandals properties.
- Five-minute airport transfer is among the shortest in the Sandals chain — no long bus rides after a redeye.
- SkyPool suites with private infinity plunge pools are architecturally distinctive and not replicated at most other properties.
- PADI scuba diving up to two dives/day is included — at $80–100 per dive externally, this adds real value for certified divers.
- The property's smaller, quieter personality makes it work well for couples who want intimacy over high-energy activity.
