Club Med Québec Charlevoix is Club Med's first mountain resort in North America, opened in December 2021 in the Charlevoix region of Quebec — a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with a genuine claim to natural drama. The ski access is to Le Massif de Charlevoix, which has the highest vertical drop east of the Rockies (770m) and runs with views over the St. Lawrence River rather than the enclosed mountain valleys typical of European ski areas. Lift passes and group ski lessons are included. A 7.5km sled run is also included — one of the more distinctive non-ski mountain activities in the Club Med portfolio.
The dining program is the second distinguishing feature. Le Chalet gourmet lounge runs reservation-required à la carte menus developed by Chef Mathieu Masson-Duceppe (winner of Chopped Canada), emphasizing Charlevoix regional producers and seasonal ingredients. Terroir & Co. does fondue and raclette with Quebec cheeses and charcuterie. Le Marché's buffet runs poutine, tourtière, bison bourguignon, and smoked salmon alongside international options. This is the most credible regional food program of any Club Med mountain resort.
Honest drawbacks: the on-site hot tub is a single unit and is frequently reported as overcrowded — it cannot comfortably serve the resort's guest volume. The main pool runs 25 yards long but is described as too deep for young children without consistent supervision. The Nordic spa (sauna, hammam, cold bath, snow fountain) requires a day pass ($42–$61) or a treatment booking — it's not included for free access. Ski equipment rental is also not included in the package.
Practically: Quebec City Jean Lesage Airport (YQB) is approximately 1 hour 30 minutes away. The resort sits within a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with no ski village or external area to explore directly outside the property — it's a self-contained all-inclusive. Baby Club (0–23 months) and Petit Club (2–3 years) cost extra. La Cave wine bar requires reservation and charges à la carte.
