GO Team Excellence
Guests consistently praise the "amazing team" of G.O.s for their professionalism, energy, and dedication, fostering a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere, especially in sports instruction. They are central to creating memorable guest experiences and are frequently highlighted for their helpfulness.
Idyllic Beach & Natural Beauty
The resort's stunning setting on a "beautiful, mile-long beach" with golden sands, lush coconut groves, and vibrant bougainvillea against the Atlantic Ocean is universally adored and a major draw. Its direct access to the ocean and breathtaking views are key highlights.
Extensive Included Activities
The rich array of included land and water sports, particularly the ocean-view golf course and sailing school with professional instructors, provides abundant opportunities for active engagement. This variety ensures guests always have options for leisure and learning.
Authentic African Immersion
The resort's design, featuring traditional thatched roofs and ochre-colored walls, alongside opportunities for cultural excursions, offers a genuine Senegalese experience. This commitment to local culture enhances the unique charm of the destination.
Gourmet Dining & Local Flavors
Guests appreciate the variety of international dishes and Senegalese specialties, especially fresh grilled fish and locally sourced ingredients, often served in beautiful beachfront settings. The culinary experience is generally well-received for its quality and options.
Aging Room Condition
The most consistent concern is the age and condition of the rooms, with a lower satisfaction rating, indicating they may not meet modern luxury expectations. While designed with local charm, their condition points to a need for updates.
Additional Costs for Premium Experiences
While the all-inclusive package is comprehensive, guests should budget for extra costs for full rounds of golf (green fees/equipment), spa treatments, and especially local cultural excursions. These charges can impact the perceived value for money if not anticipated.
Dining Service Inconsistencies
Some guests have noted occasional issues with waiting times in restaurants and the consistent availability of certain fresh products. While overall dining quality is good, these service aspects can sometimes be less reliable.

The 9-hole oceanfront golf course is the clearest differentiator at Club Med Cap Skirring — it's the only such course attached to any Club Med in Africa, and golf instruction is included in the all-inclusive rate (equipment and green fees are extra). But that's not the only reason a travel agent would recommend this resort over alternatives in West Africa. The real draw is the authentic Diola cultural programming built into the stay: traditional music performances, local dance workshops, and excursions to nearby villages like Kabrousse and Djembering are woven into the G.O. team's programming in a way that's more substantive than what most Club Med properties offer.
This resort suits couples and families with older children who want an off-the-beaten-path African beach holiday with structured activity programming. The destination is genuinely remote — direct tourism infrastructure around Cap Skirring is minimal, so the all-inclusive model makes practical sense here. Travelers who prioritize beach relaxation over adventure should manage expectations: this isn't a polished Caribbean setup. Families with children under 7 will find limited options since the Mini Club starts at age 2 but programs are best suited to children 4 and up.
The honest limitation is the accommodation scale. All 205 rooms are Superior-category bungalows — there's no premium wing or adults-only area. The split-level bungalows have quirky layouts with internal steps that don't suit everyone. Rooms reopened in October 2023 after renovation, so the finish quality is currently better than older reviews suggest, but the overall category ceiling is modest compared to Club Med properties in more competitive destinations.
The resort has 205 rooms in traditional Casamance-style bungalows across a lush coconut grove. Cap Skiring Airport (CSK) is 1 mile away — about 5 minutes by car — making the transfer unusually easy. An expansion adding 120 rooms is planned for 2026–2027. Sustainability is a genuine operational focus, not marketing language: the Green Farmers program integrates local agroecology into the kitchen's produce sourcing.
The best time to visit is November through April, avoiding the June–October rainy season. The Atlantic surf at Cap Skirring can be rough, so check current swimming conditions on arrival — the beach is beautiful but swimmability varies.
