Overview

Beach Palace occupies a high-rise position in Cancún's Hotel Zone, and its Sky Floor on the 14th floor is the feature that earns its place in any comparison. Two rooftop pools with views of both the Caribbean Sea and Nichupté Lagoon simultaneously — that dual panorama is physically impossible to replicate from ground level, and few other Cancún resorts offer it. The Sky Bar and rooftop Jacuzzis complete the setup. If you're choosing a Hotel Zone all-inclusive and the rooftop experience appeals to you, Beach Palace competes directly with significantly more expensive properties for this specific feature.

The resort opened in 1985 and was last substantially renovated in 2007 — which means the bones are 17 years post-renovation. For a property that carries Palace Resorts' mid-to-upper pricing tier, some room categories show this age more than others. The premium all-inclusive program is genuinely comprehensive: all meals at all 17 venues included, premium domestic and imported spirits, 24-hour room service, fully stocked in-room minibar with liquor dispenser, free Wi-Fi, and unlimited calls to select countries. This is one of the more complete all-inclusive packages in the Hotel Zone.

At 287 rooms, Beach Palace is smaller than the mega-resort competitors in the same price bracket. This translates to shorter waits at restaurants, bars, and pools — and staff who recognize repeat guests more quickly. The trade-off is a narrower range of physical facilities compared to 500+ room properties. Families are accommodated with a Kids Club and teen club, children's pool with waterslide, and a main crescent-shaped pool with its own waterslide.

Practically: 287 rooms, 21–34 minutes from Cancún International Airport (CUN). Direct access to a white-sand beach in the Hotel Zone. Six specialty restaurants plus a buffet and multiple bars, all included. The Stadium Bar is useful for sports event coverage. Tip: Momo (the sushi restaurant) requires reservations; the others don't.

Pros

  • +The 14th-floor Sky Floor with dual Caribbean Sea and Nichupté Lagoon views is a genuinely rare feature in the Cancún market — most Hotel Zone rooftops face one direction.
  • +17 dining venues all included — one of the most comprehensive all-inclusive dining programs in the Hotel Zone without surcharges.
  • +The in-room minibar with liquor dispenser and 24-hour room service create a boutique-hotel feel within the all-inclusive format.
  • +At 287 rooms, the property is small enough that wait times at restaurants and pools are shorter than at 500+ room mega-resorts.
  • +Sauna and steam room access included in the all-inclusive rate — a meaningful add at properties where this often costs extra.

Cons

  • −Last major renovation was in 2007 — at 15+ years post-renovation, some room categories show age that doesn't match the pricing tier.
  • −Momo (the best sushi option) requires reservations — if you wait until evening, slots may be gone.
  • −The Sky Floor rooftop pools are the primary draw but have limited capacity — high season requires early arrival to secure a good position.
  • −Hotel Zone location means adjacent resorts on either side, road noise from Blvd Kukulcan, and the commercial atmosphere of a major beach tourism corridor.
  • −Spa treatment rooms are not specified in number — a small facility relative to the room count could create availability problems for popular treatment times.

Tips

  • Reserve Momo at check-in for whichever evenings you want sushi — it's the only restaurant requiring advance booking.
  • The Sky Floor rooftop pools are most accessible before 10 AM and after 5 PM — midday sees the highest competition for pool chairs and Jacuzzi access.
  • The Stadium Bar has the best sports coverage for guests who want to watch live games during their stay.
  • Pack formal-ish dinner attire (collared shirts, long pants) if you plan to dine at Bocelli regularly — the dress code is strictly enforced.
  • The 24-hour room service is notably more complete than at most all-inclusives — use it for late arrivals or early departures rather than waiting for the buffet.
