Varied Dining Experience
The buffet food is well-regarded for its amazing variety, fresh products, excellent breakfast spread, and enjoyable themed dinner nights featuring local and international options.
Stunning Clifftop Location
The hotel's prime position on a clifftop offers breathtaking sea views and convenient proximity to the picturesque sandy coves of Cala Antena and Cala Domingos.
Great Value for Money
Many visitors highlight the hotel's excellent value, especially considering it's an all-inclusive 3-star property offering a wide range of services and entertainment.
Dated Rooms & Poor Soundproofing
A common concern revolves around rooms being described as basic and dated, with significant issues related to poor soundproofing that lead to disturbances from hallways and neighboring guests.
All-Inclusive Cut-off Policy
Guests frequently express frustration over the strict 12:00 PM cut-off for all-inclusive benefits on checkout day, leaving them without food or drinks for several hours before late departures.
Food Repetition for Longer Stays
Despite initial praise for variety, many guests find the buffet food options become repetitive over longer stays, diminishing the dining satisfaction.
Inconsistent Service at Reception
While most staff are friendly, some guests report instances of unapproachable or rude service from reception staff, which can be a point of disappointment.
Sun Lounger Availability Issues
The persistent problem of sun loungers being reserved with towels early in the morning, often remaining unused for extended periods, frustrates guests seeking a spot by the pool.

The clifftop position between two cove beaches is what distinguishes this property from the rest of the Alua budget range. Cala Antena (150 m, sheltered, fine white sand) and Cala Domingos (800 m, golden sand) are both walkable and both genuinely good beaches for families — clear, shallow, and calm enough for children. The hotel didn't make the beaches; they were here first. But the positioning was well chosen, and it's the strongest argument for booking this over alternatives farther from the water.
This is a 3-star property, opened 1970, and the rooms reflect that. They're functional, adequately clean, and dated. Soundproofing is a persistent complaint across reviews: hallway noise, neighboring rooms, general resort chatter. The rooms are fine for guests who arrive tired and leave early for the beach. Guests who spend significant time in the room or are light sleepers will notice the limitations more acutely. Upgrading to a sea view category costs more but consistently earns positive responses from guests who pay for it.
Food is better than the category average. Breakfast gets strong reviews; themed dinner nights — particularly the Spanish and Mediterranean rotations — outperform the standard buffet. The all-inclusive package cuts off sharply at noon on departure day, which matters for guests with afternoon flights. Pack food from the morning or plan to use the bar before it closes.
The Astro Club for ages 4-12 runs daily (closed Monday and Tuesday), covering games, mini-disco, face painting, and film nights. A Youth Club for 12-16-year-olds operates during summer and October. The entertainment team is the most consistently praised element of the hotel across all recent reviews — they're mentioned by name in guest feedback in a way that's unusual for a 3-star.
Palma de Mallorca Airport (PMI) is 47-62 km away, roughly 52 minutes by car or 70 minutes by coach. That's a real distance — part of the reason this area of Mallorca stays less saturated than the southwest. If you want a quieter, greener coastal location with good beach access and a family-appropriate all-inclusive, Cales de Mallorca delivers. If you want a full resort complex with multiple restaurants and a spa, this isn't the right property.
