Inconsistent Food Quality
While breakfast is highly rated, lunch and dinner buffets often receive criticism for being repetitive, bland, sometimes cold, and offering limited variety beyond fresh fruit, impacting the overall dining experience.
Poor Room Soundproofing
A common complaint is the lack of soundproofing in rooms, leading to audible noise from adjacent rooms, corridors, and external disturbances like early morning garbage trucks, affecting sleep quality.
Isolated Location
While appreciated for tranquility, the hotel's quiet location means it is somewhat far from other towns or attractions, making a rental car beneficial for exploration.
Twin Beds for Couples
Many couples express disappointment at finding two single beds pushed together instead of a proper double bed, which can be an inconvenience.

Green & Fair Hotel
Nearly every room at AluaSoul Carolina has a direct sea view. This sounds like a standard marketing claim, but at this property it's structural: the hotel sits on a headland above Font de Sa Cala bay with its main building face oriented toward the Mediterranean. Even the entry-level Double Room has a balcony — it's the view direction that changes with each tier, not the presence of outdoor space. The rooftop Vertigo Sky Bar, with two outdoor jacuzzis and unobstructed views across the bay, runs evenings in high season at an extra charge but represents the best sundowner spot in the area.
Formerly Roc Carolina, the property underwent a full renovation in 2017 and has maintained its adults-only (16+) status since. The beachfront access is genuine — the hotel's position puts Font de Sa Cala beach, a sandy bay with clear water, directly at the property boundary. No cliff walk, no transfer, no shuttle. The beach is described as having 'crumbly sands' — not the powder-fine variety, but clean and functional with sunbeds available.
This resort works well for couples and adults who prioritize sea views, beach proximity, and a calm, child-free environment. The location in Sa Font de Sa Cala means a rental car is essentially required for exploring beyond the immediate cove — there is limited infrastructure within walking distance and the nearest substantial town, Cala Ratjada, requires a taxi or bike ride.
The honest limitation: lunch and dinner quality at the main buffet is the consistent weak point. Multiple reviews describe the food as repetitive, bland, and arriving cold. The portion of the all-inclusive program covering drinks also has gaps — fruit juices and many desserts are described as industrial rather than fresh. If food quality matters to your trip, budget for dinners off-site in Cala Ratjada or Artà.
Practically: 216 rooms across five categories. Circular outdoor pool with sea views plus an indoor spa pool. Full spa with sauna, steam room, hydromassage tub, and fitness center. Palma Airport is 77–79km, typically 65–75 minutes. All-inclusive drinks run until 23:00; the property closes the AI program at that point.
