Spacious & Comfortable Rooms

Food Quality & Repetitiveness
While varied, the buffet food can become repetitive over longer stays, with some guests finding lunch and dinner options to be basic or lacking distinct flavor.
Elevator Inefficiency
Guests frequently report that the elevators are slow, small, and occasionally out of order, leading to noticeable waiting times, particularly during peak hours.
Complicated Pool Towel System
The process for obtaining and changing pool towels is a recurring frustration, involving a deposit and an additional fee for each towel change.
Inconsistent Room Cleaning
While rooms are generally clean, some guests noted that daily cleaning was often minimal, focusing more on making beds rather than thorough tidying, and common areas like elevators could be cleaner.

The cliff-top location at Alua Calas de Mallorca Resort is the feature that justifies choosing it over a flat beachfront alternative. Most rooms look out over the Mediterranean rather than a parking lot or neighboring resort, and direct path access to Cala Antena Beach and the Cala Domingos coves means the beach feels integrated rather than a separate trip. The setting is the primary selling point.
The My Favourite Club concept works well here. The private lounge with all-day snacks and drinks, dedicated sunbed area by the pool, personalized check-in, and upgraded in-room amenities (Nespresso machine, bathrobes) function as a meaningful tier above the standard all-inclusive experience. The guaranteed sunbed access is the most practically valuable benefit in peak season — the main pool area fills early in July and August, and the Club-reserved section removes the daily 8am race for chairs.
For families, the cliff-path beach access is a significant limitation for pushchair-aged children or guests with mobility limitations. Cala Antena (a sheltered cove good for snorkeling) is accessible via path from the property, and Cala Domingos Gran Beach (about 900m to 1.3km away) is the area's best sandy beach. Guests who want a sandy beach as a daily fixture need to plan the extra walk or take the shuttle.
Practical details: 4-star resort in Calas de Mallorca on Mallorca's southeast coast. Five pools including two adult outdoor, two children's, and an indoor heated pool. Spa and fitness center included. Airport transfer is 49–60 minutes from Palma (PMI) — among the longer transfers for a south-coast property. Calas de Mallorca village is 5 minutes on foot with local restaurants as a buffet alternative.
Best season is May–October. Shoulder season (May/June and September/October) offers the cliff views without the July–August crowd pressure at the pools.
