One of Puerto Vallarta's Best-Known Beach Hotels Is Going All-Inclusive — With Plunge Pools and Swim-Up Suites

The Westin Resort & Spa Puerto Vallarta is being reborn as an all-inclusive property, reopening as The Westin Playa Vallarta with 281 reimagined suites. The conversion adds Puerto Vallarta to the growing list of established beach hotels trading the traditional room-rate model for a fully bundled experience.

The made-over resort leans into the accommodations that all-inclusive guests increasingly expect. Thirty of the suites will feature private plunge pools, and another 16 will offer swim-up access, the kind of high-demand room types that let a property push rates well above the resort's previous positioning.

The rebrand fits inside a much larger industry shift. Marriott has been steadily building out its Westin All-Inclusive footprint, part of a wider land grab as major hotel companies chase the all-inclusive segment that has outgrown the rest of their portfolios. Converting an already-recognized flagship in a proven Mexico beach market is a lower-risk way to plant that flag than building from the ground up.

For Puerto Vallarta, long known more for its walkable Malecon and old-town charm than for mega-resorts, the shift signals that the destination is drawing the same brand attention that has reshaped Cancun and the Riviera Maya. And for Westin loyalists who have watched rivals roll out all-inclusive concepts, it finally gives them a bundled option under a name they already know.
