Silversands Beach House in Grenada Switches to Adults-Only Stays

Silversands Beach House on Portici Beach in Grenada is now adults-only, with stays limited to guests ages 16 and up after an announcement from ORA Hospitality that took effect on Sept. 22, 2026.

The 28-room cliffside hotel opened in 2024 as the smaller sibling to Silversands Grand Anse. It has always sold intimacy more than scale: staggered hillside suites, canopied terraces, and a quieter stretch of sand than the broad sweep of Grand Anse. The new age rule locks that positioning in for couples, friends, and solo travelers who want the property without family programming around them.

What changes for guests booking Portici Beach

Anyone under 16 can no longer check in or stay at Beach House. The policy applies immediately across new reservations, so trip planners with teens need to confirm ages before locking flights. The hotel still has the same 28 accommodations, floor-to-ceiling windows, outdoor terraces, outdoor gym, and Wellness Room with tailored treatments. Signature restaurant Azzurro continues Italian cooking in a Caribbean setting.

Resort manager Clarista Hillaire framed the shift around privacy and restoration on the Grenadian coast. That matches how Tripadvisor already ranks the hotel among its Travelers' Choice Best of the Best winners, a top one percent cut on the platform. For guests who kept returning for the small room count, the adults-only rule is a booking filter more than a redesign of the buildings or beach.

Where families should stay instead

Travelers with younger kids are pointed to Silversands Grand Anse, a short shuttle ride away on Grand Anse Beach. That sister resort keeps an all-ages policy, with 43 suites, eight private villas, a kids' club, a spa, and four dining concepts. Grand Anse also markets a long pool and a cigar and rum lounge, giving families more space and evening options than Beach House was built to offer.

The split gives Silversands Collection Grenada two clear products on the same island: a 28-key adults-only hideaway on Portici, and a fuller family resort on Grenada's best-known beach. Direct flights from several U.S. cities already support both stays. Just match the age rule to the hotel before you book, because a declined Beach House check-in on arrival is an expensive mistake.
