The Caribbean's Biggest New Resort Just Opened Today — With Over 2,000 Suites and a Greg Norman Golf Course
Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana opened its doors on June 1 with 2,171 suites, more than 20 dining venues, nine pools, a water park, a casino, and a Greg Norman-designed golf course, making it the largest new resort to debut in the Caribbean in 2026.
Palace Resorts just opened the doors to its most ambitious property yet. Moon Palace The Grand Punta Cana launched today in the Dominican Republic, bringing 2,171 suites online in a single opening — the largest new resort debut anywhere in the Caribbean this year.
The numbers define the property immediately: more than 20 dining venues spanning 16 full-service restaurants plus cafes and snack outlets, nine pools, a water park, a casino, an O Spa, and a Greg Norman-designed golf course. Non-motorized water sports, daily activity programming, and nighttime entertainment are all included in the rate.
What the Dining Looks Like
The food program is built around range rather than a single flagship restaurant. Sixteen restaurants cover multiple cuisines, supported by poolside outlets, cafes serving coffee and crepes, and 24-hour in-room dining ordered through the resort app. The structure is designed so guests can rotate through different venues without repeating over a multi-day stay.
Suite Categories
Entry-level rooms start at roughly 635 square feet with whirlpool tubs and curated minibars. Swim-up suites offer direct pool access from the terrace. Family configurations combine two connected rooms reaching nearly 2,000 square feet, accommodating up to seven guests. Presidential suites top out at 2,637 square feet.
More to Come
The resort opened today with core operations running — accommodations, primary restaurants, pools, and activity areas. Additional nightlife concepts, including an adults-only day club, a speakeasy-style lounge, and a Polynesian-inspired cocktail bar called Waitiki, are scheduled for later in 2026.
Opening rates start at $849 per night all-inclusive for a golf-view room, with swim-up suites running around $1,403. Punta Cana International Airport is a 20- to 30-minute transfer away, with direct flights from major U.S., Canadian, and European cities.
