Kandooma Maldives Adds Pickleball, With a Free Daily Hour per Villa
Kandooma Maldives has added a pickleball court with equipment to borrow and one free hour per villa each day, giving families another activity on land.
Kandooma Maldives has added a pickleball court, with one complimentary hour of play per villa each day. The October 29 announcement gives guests a new activity to reserve on land, alongside the South Malé Atoll resort's beach games and ocean excursions.
The practical details are unusually straightforward: the court opens daily from 6am to 6pm, paddles and balls can be borrowed from Reception, and reservations go through the Recreation or Front Office team. Guests can play singles or doubles.
How does the free court time work?
The allowance belongs to each villa, rather than each person. A family sharing one villa should therefore plan around one included hour a day. Groups occupying several villas should ask the team how to arrange their bookings together, rather than assuming they can combine allowances into a longer session.
Borrowing equipment makes it possible to try the sport without using suitcase space for paddles. The announcement does not set out a coaching programme, tournament calendar or price for additional time. Anyone wanting instruction or a longer match should check those details directly before building a holiday around them.
What else can guests do away from the water?
Pickleball joins an existing recreation line-up that includes beach volleyball, beach tennis, billiards, table tennis and beach football. That makes the new court another choice for a mixed-interest group, rather than the island's only option for an active afternoon.
The resort also lists Maldivian cooking classes and a Kandoo Kids Club. Those are separate experiences with their own arrangements; a court reservation should not be treated as supervised childcare. Families can ask for the current activity schedule when deciding which sessions fit around meals and excursions.
What should you check before choosing a stay?
Kandooma is reached by an approximately 45-minute speedboat transfer from Velana International Airport. The resort asks for flight details at least 24 to 48 hours before arrival so the crossing can be coordinated. Transfer arrangements and charges belong in the holiday budget alongside the room rate.
For travellers comparing Maldives resorts, the new court is a useful small inclusion, especially when some guests want a break from swimming or snorkelling. Reserve through the island team and confirm the daily allowance when you arrive, particularly if a specific playing time matters to your group.
