This All-Inclusive Giant Just Signed a Deal for a 303-Room Resort on a Famous Thai Island
Club Med is expanding its premium Exclusive Collection to Koh Samui, Thailand, with a 303-room beachfront resort set to open in 2028.
Club Med is headed to one of Southeast Asia's most sought-after beach destinations. The all-inclusive operator has signed a hotel management agreement with Central Group Capital to open a new Exclusive Collection resort on Koh Samui, Thailand, with an anticipated opening in the second half of 2028.
The 303-room property will sit on a beachfront site roughly 25 minutes from Koh Samui Airport, offering over 200 meters of private beach access. Club Med says the design will draw on Thai heritage and the island's natural surroundings, though specific renderings have not yet been released.
The resort will carry Club Med's Exclusive Collection branding — the company's premium tier, which features elevated dining, curated wellness programs, and more intimate layouts. Guests can expect the brand's signature activity programming alongside higher-end amenities aimed at luxury travelers.
This will be Club Med's second property in Thailand, joining Club Med Phuket in Phuket. The two properties will serve different audiences: Phuket is positioned as a vibrant, family-friendly resort and home to the brand's first Family Oasis in Asia, while Koh Samui will target travelers looking for a more refined, adults-oriented experience.
The partnership with Central Group Capital — one of Thailand's largest retail and hospitality conglomerates — adds local expertise to what is clearly a strategic bet on Southeast Asia's premium resort market. With luxury all-inclusive demand continuing to grow across the region, Club Med is staking its claim early on one of Thailand's most iconic islands.
