Nassau is getting its first scheduled nonstop from Mexico City. Aeroméxico will start Mexico City to Nassau service on March 19, 2027, creating a direct path between Mexico's capital and the Bahamas without a U.S. connection.

How the schedule works for vacationers

The Bahamas Ministry of Tourism says the route will use about 160 seats on Boeing 737-800, 737 MAX 8, and 737 MAX 9 aircraft. The outbound leaves Mexico City at 9:10 a.m. and arrives in Nassau at 3 p.m. The return departs Nassau at 4:15 p.m. and lands in Mexico City at 6:30 p.m. That timing puts guests on the island with an afternoon left for check-in, a beach walk, or a transfer to Paradise Island.

For spring break and Easter 2027 planners, the practical question is seat inventory and hotel packages timed to those afternoon arrivals. A mid-afternoon landing is friendlier than a late-night inbound when you want to start an all-inclusive week the same day.

Who this route actually helps

Mexico City is a major hub with connections across Mexico and Latin America. Travelers from markets such as Guadalajara, Monterrey, Merida, Cancun, and farther south can now reach Nassau through one airport instead of routing through Miami or another U.S. gateway. For resort guests, that cuts connection risk and makes a Bahamas week feel more like a direct Caribbean hop.

Once in Nassau, the usual Paradise Island and New Providence options sit close by, including adults-only stays such as Sandals Royal Bahamian. Domestic hops and ferries still open Exuma, Eleuthera, Harbour Island, and the rest of the Out Islands for travelers who want more than one island on the same trip.

Why Bahamas tourism is pushing Latin America

Officials called the Aeroméxico launch the country's most significant airlift expansion into Latin America so far. It sits alongside other recent Nassau capacity adds, including restored U.S. routes, as The Bahamas tries to diversify beyond its traditional U.S. and Canadian source markets. For guests shopping spring 2027 dates, the takeaway is a new nonstop city pair that makes Nassau easier to reach from Mexico and much of Latin America.
