Zemi Miches is the kind of ambitious new-build that doesn't come along often in the Caribbean all-inclusive market. A $225 million investment on a relatively undeveloped stretch of the Dominican Republic's northeast coast, the resort opened in June 2025 as Hilton's first Curio Collection all-inclusive property in the country — and it immediately set a new standard for the Miches area. The name pays homage to the Taíno people's sacred "zemí" figures, and that cultural thread runs through every detail, from the architecture to the spa treatments to the culinary program.
The all-inclusive package covers all meals at seven restaurants, unlimited drinks at seven bars, 24-hour room service, non-motorized water sports, the Coki Cove Kids Club, nightly outdoor theater entertainment, fitness center access, cultural workshops, and high-speed WiFi. Club Azure, the resort's premium tier, adds private check-in, a personal concierge, a 1,470-square-foot rooftop infinity pool, and two exclusive dining venues — The Royal Palm lounge and Caicu bar.
The dining program is unusually ambitious for a new property, with 14 venues spanning Caribbean fire-cooking at Yuca, Thai street food at Boba, Amalfi Coast Italian at Manicato, and a global market concept at Guacete. Toa anchors the Taíno-inspired culinary narrative with locally sourced Caribbean dishes, while Jagua serves all-day seafood exclusively for bungalow guests. The bar scene runs from specialty coffees and rum cocktails at Dujo to tropical fruit-forward creations at Batey and two swim-up pool bars.
Acana Spa & Wellness is a 16,000-square-foot sanctuary with 11 treatment rooms, a hydrotherapy circuit, sauna, steam rooms, and private plunge pools. Signature treatments like the Cacao Ritual and Quartz Sand Massage draw on Taíno healing traditions. A separate 6,460-square-foot fitness center with yoga studio complements the wellness offering. The Coki Cove Kids Club (ages 3–12) runs marine conservation workshops, cultural programming, and a kids' bakery, while the upcoming Palmchat Teens Club (ages 13–17) will add bowling, arcade, cinema, and a VR escape room.
Four pools — including two with swim-up bars — anchor the leisure program, plus the Club Azure rooftop infinity pool and 119 ground-floor suites with their own private plunge pools. Playa Esmeralda is the star attraction: 2,000 feet of wide, palm-lined Caribbean shoreline that remains far less developed than the Bávaro strip. Activities range from horseback riding and mountain biking to seasonal whale watching (January–March), kayaking, paddleboarding, and excursions to nearby Los Haitises National Park and Salto de La Jalda, the tallest waterfall in the Caribbean.
