Viva Wyndham Resorts
Coson Beach is the reason guests choose V Samaná. The beach on the Samaná peninsula's north shore is genuinely beautiful — fine golden sand, warm clear water, and palm trees that weren't planted last year by a resort landscape crew. It's the kind of beach that gets photographed and used to sell the entire Dominican Republic to Europeans who've never been. The resort sits on it and wisely keeps its design low-profile enough that the beach remains the dominant feature.
The property — 286 rooms opened in 2015, renovated in 2019 — positions itself as 'all-inclusive reinvented,' which in practice means a sleeker aesthetic than the traditional Punta Cana resort and an emphasis on atmosphere over activity volume. The buffet gets consistent criticism for being basic and repetitive, which is the honest operational weakness. The à la carte restaurants (Mar y Fuego for seafood, Fusion, and Mediterranea) fare better, and the beach and pool experience compensate for dining limitations.
The adults-only designation (no children) creates an atmosphere more akin to a couples retreat than a party resort. The infinity pool is the social hub. The Hip Bar runs DJs until 1 AM. Bungalow guests with private plunge pools effectively have their own aquatic amenity outside their door.
Practically: 286 rooms including V Rooms, Vibe Rooms (plunge pools, butler service), and Bungalows (plunge pools, larger footprint). Samaná El Catey International Airport (AZS) is 20–28 minutes away. All-inclusive covers meals, premium spirits, 24-hour room service, and most activities. The in-room safe reportedly carries an extra charge at some booking tiers — confirm at check-in.
