The real reason to book the Tropical Deluxe Princess over its competitors on Bavaro Beach isn't the beach itself — every resort on this strip shares the same white sand — it's the access to the broader Princess Hotels campus. Guests here can eat and drink at Caribe Deluxe Princess next door, use that property's gym and main pool, and take the free shuttle to the Avalon Casino and Movie Disco Club at Grand Bávaro Princess. For a mid-tier price point, that kind of cross-property access is unusual and genuinely useful when you want more options without upgrading to a larger resort.
This is a natural fit for families with children between 4 and 17. The Kids Club runs daily from 9 AM to 5 PM with supervised activities, crafts, and a dedicated pool with slides. The Teen Club runs its own schedule. The animation team receives more consistent praise in reviews than the food and rooms — which suggests the experience here is oriented toward activity and family energy rather than culinary sophistication or accommodation quality.
Two things to manage before arriving: the Club Concierge (timeshare-adjacent) desk will offer a breakfast invitation at check-in. It's optional and the credit offered rarely justifies the time spent in the presentation — decline it clearly. À la carte dinner reservations at the six included restaurants book up within hours of most guest arrivals, so go to the reservations desk before finding your room, not after.
Rooms were renovated in 2020–21 and the family room configuration — with bunk beds and two bathrooms — is well-designed for groups with children. The BeacHouse Rooftop bar is the best sunset spot on the property.
