Swissôtel Alatau opened in 2021 as a wellness resort in the Nauryzbay District forest on the edge of Almaty — not on a beach, not in a city center, but in a pine and birch forest setting at the foothills of the Tian Shan mountains. The Tian Shan range is dramatic: snow-capped peaks visible year-round, rising abruptly behind the city. From the hotel's rooms, the mountain panorama is the primary view.
The property's positioning within Accor's all-inclusive collection is unusual: this is genuinely a wellness resort first and a traditional all-inclusive second. The Pürovel Spa has thermal pools fed by mineral-rich water, a Turkish bath, sauna, jacuzzi, and a comprehensive treatment menu. More distinctively, the resort integrates a medical and preventive healthcare center — actual clinical assessments, physiotherapy, and medically supervised fitness programs available to guests. This goes well beyond what any Caribbean or Mediterranean all-inclusive would offer.
The food quality gets strong marks — particularly breakfast, which reviewers describe as exceptional in variety and quality for a Central Asian all-inclusive. The Almaty food scene draws from Kazakh, Russian, Turkish, and East Asian culinary influences, and the restaurants reflect this mix.
Practical note: Almaty International Airport is 31 km away — a 50-minute taxi journey through the city. The resort is isolated from the city center by design, which means guests who want to explore Almaty (its markets, Medeu ice rink, Kok Tobe cable car) will need transportation arranged through the hotel. The outdoor pools close seasonally — confirm dates if traveling in the October–April window.
