What differentiates Secrets Moxché from the dozen other adults-only all-inclusives in Riviera Maya is the cenote concept. The resort has three man-made cenotes — a nod to the Yucatan Peninsula's natural underground pools — built into the property grounds. They're not natural cenotes, but they create a distinctive swimming environment that no other nearby resort replicates. Combined with 11 pools and an 'interior beach-inspired' lagoon area, the resort has more aquatic variety per square foot than most comparably sized properties.
This is a strong match for couples who want a fresh, well-designed adults-only property close to Playa del Carmen. The Fifth Avenue shopping and restaurant strip is 10-15 minutes by taxi, which means you can easily supplement the all-inclusive with dinners out if buffet fatigue sets in. Guests who want complete resort isolation and never plan to leave the property will also be well-served — the 485 suites and 11 pools mean the property rarely feels crowded.
The main limitation is sargassum. Like all Riviera Maya properties, Moxché installs anti-algae barriers on the beach — which is visually disruptive. The barriers work functionally, but the beach itself isn't the pristine postcard experience. The cenotes and pools are the primary swimming and lounging areas for most guests; treat the beach as supplementary.
Opened in 2022 as new construction, 35-65 minutes from Cancun International Airport (CUN). The resort is adjacent to Secrets Impression Moxché — the higher-tier boutique experience at the same location. The spa has 16 treatment rooms including five VIP double treatment rooms with private plunge pools. Preferred Club guests get a complimentary hydrotherapy session per stay. Food quality regularly draws comparisons to non-all-inclusive fine dining — the AAA Five Diamond designation reflects a genuinely elevated culinary standard.
