Dedicated Staff
The friendly, helpful, and caring attitude of the staff, especially within the reception and restaurant teams, significantly enhances the guest experience, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere.
Extensive Facilities
The resort's multiple pools, including a heated option and an adults-only zone, coupled with a wide array of activities and entertainment, ensure there are ample options for relaxation and engagement for all ages.
Comfortable Accommodations
Rooms are frequently noted for being spacious, clean, and comfortable, with well-equipped bathrooms and balconies, often providing enjoyable sea views.
Beach Quality
While the resort is beachfront, the immediate Las Coloradas beach is often described as rocky and less suitable for swimming, requiring a walk to the sandy Papagayo beaches for better access.
Breakfast Consistency
Some guests found the breakfast quality to be variable or not as impressive as lunch and dinner, suggesting potential areas for improvement in the morning offerings.
Poolside Comfort
A common concern is the limited availability of sun loungers and parasols, particularly during peak times, and the temperature of some pools being too cool, impacting comfort.
Minor Service Inconsistencies
While overall service is praised, isolated instances of inconsistent service from some staff members and issues with room noise insulation have been reported by a few guests.

Sandos Papagayo Beach Resort opened in 2003 on Las Coloradas beach in Playa Blanca, the quieter, more polished end of Lanzarote. The resort's strongest asset isn't its beach — it's the location. The Papagayo natural park beaches, among the best on the island, are a 10-minute walk along the coast. On days when the Las Coloradas beach feels rocky or exposed, guests are already close to something genuinely better. A free shuttle to Playa Dorada provides another option. This is an unusually good beach-access situation for an all-inclusive that doesn't sit on a prize stretch of sand.
The dining lineup is substantial for a 488-room property. Maison Jaune (French à la carte, reservation required) and the Fusion Restaurant (Asian/Mexican themed nights) are the à la carte highlights; the 24-hour Snack Grill handles the between-meals demand. The Green Bar runs as an adults-only piano bar in the evenings — a small but genuine differentiator in the Lanzarote all-inclusive market. Families and couples coexist reasonably well: three outdoor pools include one adults-only and one heated in winter, and the Mini Club covers ages 4–12.
The Las Coloradas beachfront directly in front of the hotel has rocky sections and is not the smooth sandy stretch that photos can imply. Guests who research the beach situation beforehand tend to be satisfied (the location is near good beaches rather than on one); guests who don't are sometimes disappointed. This is the most consistent tension point in reviews and worth understanding before booking.
Lanzarote Airport (ACE) is 30–40 minutes away depending on traffic. The Biosphere and Travelife sustainability certifications are genuine — Lanzarote has island-wide sustainability commitments and this property is part of that framework.
