Opened in 2022, Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun was purpose-built as a family mega-resort from the ground up — 1,005 suites, a large water park, an indoor entertainment complex with bowling lanes, laser tag, and a trampoline park, plus a 14-restaurant spread with access extended to the adjacent Royalton Riviera Cancun through a Stay at 1, Play at 2 arrangement. This is one of the most activity-dense all-inclusives anywhere in the Cancun corridor.
The indoor entertainment venue is what sets this property apart from every other all-inclusive in the area. Bowling, laser tag, and a trampoline park inside a resort means rainy days (or hot afternoons) don't create a programming crisis for families with active children. Combined with the water park, older kids (8–16) have genuine options beyond the standard pool-and-beach rotation. The resort also has a dedicated luxury section at the north end — infinity beachfront pools, a lazy river, and an indoor pool.
With 1,005 suites, this is a genuinely large operation. If you're looking for a quiet, intimate experience, this is the wrong property. Lines at the buffet during peak occupancy can be long, the pools fill up fast in high season, and the entertainment areas are intentionally loud. The scale also means specialty restaurant reservations — particularly The Winery and C/X — are competitive.
The beach at Riviera Cancun (Puerto Morelos) is among the better stretches in the Cancun zone — calmer and less eroded than the Hotel Zone. The reef close to shore makes for decent snorkeling directly off the beach. The airport transfer from Cancun is about 19–25 minutes. Families with children ages 4–16 who want the most activities-per-dollar of any all-inclusive in Mexico are this resort's target demographic. Couples or guests over 60 looking for a peaceful beach holiday will find this property overwhelming.
