Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun operates on the same resort-within-a-resort model as the Punta Cana Hideaway: guests stay in a 343-room adults-only enclave with its own private beach, dedicated pools, and Hideaway-exclusive dining, while accessing the full restaurant and entertainment facilities of the adjacent Royalton Riviera Cancun. The property is undergoing a significant multi-million-dollar renovation with a scheduled grand reopening December 7, 2025, which means the facilities guests experience will be substantially updated from earlier reviews.
The location is Puerto Morelos — midway between Cancun and Playa del Carmen — which is a meaningful distinction. Cancun International Airport is just 15–21 minutes away, making this one of the shortest transfers in the Riviera Maya corridor. Puerto Morelos itself is a quieter town than either Cancun or Playa del Carmen, which suits the adults-only positioning. The beach here is maintained daily for sargassum removal and guests consistently report the effort is visible — though conditions still vary seasonally.
Guest reviews from before the renovation highlight the Indian restaurant (Taj) and the teppanyaki at Zen as the standout dining choices, with the buffet getting the weaker marks. Service is frequently praised but maintenance issues in rooms — hot water problems, loose tiles, broken fixtures — are a recurring complaint that the 2025 renovation should address. Swim-up pools face northward in some configurations and can be cold due to shade in the morning hours.
Practically: rooms start at 560 sq ft for the Junior Suites and go to Chairman's Suites in the rooftop area (size unspecified) plus overwater bungalows (size also not publicly detailed). A $200 USD credit card hold is standard at check-in. Replacement bracelet fees apply for lost wristbands.
