Guests Love

  • Breathtaking Sea Views

Panoramic vistas of the Adriatic Sea from its impressive cliff-side location are consistently lauded by guests, creating a spectacular backdrop for their stay.

  • Exceptional Staff Service

The resort's team receives high praise for being friendly, efficient, and attentive, with their supportive service significantly enhancing the overall guest experience.

  • Prime Location

Its convenient proximity to Dubrovnik's historic Old Town (a short walk) is a major draw, offering easy access to explore the city's rich culture and attractions.

  • Superb Breakfast Buffet

Guests rave about the extensive, fresh, and varied breakfast spread, featuring local produce, which is consistently highlighted as a daily delight.

  • Luxurious Spa & Pools

The magnificent Anjana Spa, with its unique Hammam, along with the diverse indoor and outdoor pools, offers excellent opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation.

Guests Warn

  • Standard Room Experience

Some guests find non-sea view or standard rooms to be less distinctive or charming compared to the resort's luxury status, potentially lacking unique views.

  • Buffet Dinner Variability

The main buffet dinner at Turquoise occasionally receives feedback for lacking the consistent variety or quality found in the resort's à la carte dining options.

  • Minor Maintenance Concerns

Isolated reports of minor room maintenance issues (e.g., ceiling stains, loose sockets) and some mold in pool area changing facilities exist, though not widespread.

  • All-Inclusive Clarity

The resort primarily operates on B&B/Half Board; guests expecting a full all-inclusive package with all meals and drinks should verify inclusions carefully as many items cost extra.

Overview

Rixos Premium Dubrovnik sits on a cliff overlooking the Adriatic, 15–20 minutes' walk from Dubrovnik's Old Town. Built in 2007 and thoroughly renovated in 2020, the 310-room property is one of eight Rixos Premium hotels globally and the only hotel in Dubrovnik with a casino—the Merit Casino Libertas operates on-site, making evenings here different from the rest of the Croatian hotel landscape.

Guests who will get the most value here are couples and groups looking for a luxury hotel close to but not inside the Old Town frenzy, who want decent spa facilities and organized dining without leaving the property. The location is genuinely useful: Stari Grad is walkable, but the clifftop setting gives enough distance from the crowds. Families are accommodated with a Rixy Kids Club and a children's pool, but this is not a dedicated family resort—the activity offering is adult-focused and the beach access is rocky.

The most consistent guest feedback concerns the beach: the Adriatic here is rocky, not sandy, accessed via steps and platforms. The swimming is fine but it's not a sand-between-your-toes experience. Guests prioritizing beach comfort should look at properties on Croatia's sandy islands rather than the Dubrovnik coast, which is rocky throughout.

Practical details: 310 rooms, Dubrovnik Airport (DBV) is 22–23 km away (23–30 minutes). The breakfast buffet draws consistent high praise from reviewers. The Umi Teppanyaki restaurant has been nominated for Croatia's Best Hotel Restaurant in both 2023 and 2024.

Pros

  • +The Merit Casino Libertas is the only casino in Dubrovnik—if you want casino evenings, there's no other option in the city.
  • +The 2020 renovation means room quality is uniformly current across all categories, unlike older Dubrovnik hotels where room standards vary significantly.
  • +Umi Teppanyaki's two Croatia's Best Hotel Restaurant nominations reflect genuine food quality for an all-inclusive property.
  • +The 15–20 minute walk to Old Town is close enough to be convenient but far enough to escape the high-season crowds when you want to.

Cons

  • −The beach is entirely rocky—concrete platforms and stone steps to the water. Anyone expecting sand will be disappointed. This applies to all Dubrovnik coastline, but worth knowing before booking.
  • −The a la carte restaurants (Umi, Libertas Fish, Mykorini) all carry extra charges on top of the premium rates you're already paying.
  • −Libertas Fish Restaurant and Mykorini are seasonal, operating May–September only. Off-season guests have only Umi and the Turquoise buffet as dinner options.

Tips

  • Book Umi Teppanyaki's 7 PM show cooking sitting immediately on check-in—it fills within 24 hours in peak season. The earlier 5 PM sitting is usually more available.
  • The Anjana Spa hammam is included; use it on arrival day to recover from travel. The following morning's body scrub is the natural follow-on.
  • Walk to Old Town in the morning (cooler, fewer tourists, better photography light) and use the hotel pool in the afternoon. The reverse schedule means navigating tourist crowds in peak heat.
  • Request a high-floor sea view room on the east-facing side—these catch the morning sun and have more open water sightlines than ground-floor units.
