Rixos Bab Al Bahr opened in 2012 on Al Marjan Island, Ras Al Khaimah's man-made island development. The three pyramid buildings are the property's most distinctive visual element, drawing from Egyptian architectural reference in a setting that faces the Arabian Gulf. At 715 rooms, this is a large resort but it is structured around an Ultra All-Inclusive program that includes premium branded beverages—a critical differentiator in a UAE market where all-inclusive often means soft drinks only.
The restaurant lineup runs Turkish, seafood, steakhouse, pan-Asian, and Italian alongside the main Seven Heights buffet. Lalezar (Turkish) is the standout: authentic Ottoman mezze, slow-cooked meats, and grilled dishes in a setting that Rixos's Turkish corporate heritage makes credible. All specialty restaurants require reservations, which matters given the 715-room headcount.
Families are the target market. Rixy Kids Club (ages 4–12) operates 10am–10pm daily—the evening hours enable adult dinners without time pressure. Teens Republic (9–17) adds a teen-specific layer. The aqua park and eight-pool setup, combined with the private beach on Al Marjan Island, handle the daytime program.
The Avitane Spa claims to be the largest in Ras Al Khaimah, with separate men's and women's facilities each featuring Turkish hammam, sauna, steam, ice fountain, and private relaxation pools. Treatments are extra cost. Al Marjan Island itself is about 20 km from Ras Al Khaimah airport and 70–75 km from Dubai International—around 60 minutes by road from DXB.
