Distance from City Center
While secluded and peaceful, the resort's location in New Mazatlán means it is a bit removed from the main attractions and nightlife of the Golden Zone and Old Mazatlán.
Minor Dated Elements & Wi-Fi
Some guests note certain parts of the resort might feel slightly dated, and in-room Wi-Fi consistency can be an issue, particularly in more distant suites.

Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay's grounds are its strongest differentiator: 20 acres of tropical garden and mangrove trees with flamingos, swans, and parrots. That's not marketing language — guests consistently mention the wildlife as the detail that distinguishes the property from every other Mazatlán all-inclusive. The neoclassical architecture and the secluded New Mazatlán location reinforce the sense of a private estate rather than a resort strip property.
This works best for couples and families who prioritize the resort environment over beach access. The on-site beach is a 400-meter stretch within an ecological zone — and the ocean there is rocky with limited swimming due to currents and occasional jellyfish. The complimentary shuttle to the swimmable Golden Zone beach at the sister Pueblo Bonito Mazatlán property covers the gap, but it adds a logistics step. Guests who want to walk out of their room and into swimmable ocean without a shuttle should book a different property.
The Armonia Spa is the resort's most-cited non-pool amenity — extensive hydrotherapy circuit, consistent quality in reviews. The Sunday Champagne Brunch at La Cordeliere is a recurring recommendation in guest feedback. Some aspects of the property feel dated; no specific major renovation has been publicized since the 2001 opening, though individual facilities have been updated.
Practically: 378 all-suites, Mazatlán International Airport (MZT) approximately 30 minutes away (35–37 km). Three pools including an infinity pool. Five restaurants. Kids Club for ages 5–10. AAA Four Diamond designation.
