Princess Family Club Bavaro operates on a 'hotel within a hotel' concept: it's a self-contained family section of the Grand Bavaro Princess with its own pool, kids' area, and swim-out rooms, but guests also have full access to the larger Grand Bavaro Princess's restaurants, bars, and facilities (excluding Platinum areas). This means a 164–169 room property has the dining depth of a 600+ room resort — which is the core value proposition.
This is squarely designed for families with children under 12. The Kids' Club sits on the beach with its own pool, a pirate ship, and water games. The Rebels Sports Bar provides a teen-specific zone with free arcade machines, pinball, and pool tables. Room configurations include bunk beds and the swim-out suites give families ground-level pool access — one of the more practical features for parents who want kids to move between room and pool with minimal supervision.
The main friction point is restaurant reservation access. The à la carte specialty restaurants across the complex require reservations, and availability is a consistent guest complaint — popular venues like El Gaucho and Tanuki fill quickly, and guests who don't prioritize booking at check-in often find themselves limited to the buffet for entire stays. Wifi is also a recurring complaint: the complimentary signal is inconsistent; premium paid wifi is the practical solution.
Practically: 164–169 rooms, approximately 18–35 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport (PUJ). The resort uses an internal train system for moving between the Family Club section and the beach and other resort areas — plan the extra transit time into beach logistics. Rooms renovated in 2019.
