Guests Love

  • Stunning Pool Areas

Guests consistently praise the beautiful and extensive tropical pool areas, particularly the artificial sandy beaches and the fun children's water park, which create a true oasis atmosphere.

  • Exceptional Staff Service

The hotel's staff receives high acclaim for being friendly, professional, helpful, and attentive, significantly enhancing the overall guest experience.

  • Resort Cleanliness and Modernity

Both rooms and general hotel areas are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness, with rooms frequently described as spacious, modern, and well-kept.

  • Diverse Entertainment & Family Focus

The resort offers a comprehensive entertainment program for all ages, including live music and evening shows, complemented by excellent kids' facilities like the water park and mini clubs.

  • Adults-Only Zones

The availability of dedicated adults-only areas, including a chill-out terrace and an exclusive pool, is a popular feature for guests seeking a quieter and more relaxed ambiance.

  • Strategic Location

Its proximity to the iconic Maspalomas Dunes and convenient access to local bus stops, as well as a pleasant walk to Maspalomas Beach, make its location highly valued by visitors.

Guests Warn

  • All-Inclusive Package Limitations

The standard all-inclusive package has specific restrictions, such as extra charges for certain premium drinks, fresh orange juice, specific ice creams, and drinks after 11 PM, which can be a point of dissatisfaction for some guests.

  • Main Buffet Dining Consistency

While variety is offered, some guests find the main buffet food to be mediocre or repetitive over time, often preferring the themed restaurants for higher quality.

  • Sunbed Availability

Competition for sun loungers, especially in the popular adults-only sections and prime spots, is a recurring concern, with guests often needing to queue early in the morning to secure a spot.

  • Potential for Noise

Rooms located near the main entertainment stage may experience noise from evening shows and activities, which could be disruptive for guests seeking a quieter stay.

  • Room Amenities and Air Conditioning

Occasional feedback suggests that the air conditioning in some rooms could be more effective, and some guests report minor issues with towel replacement procedures.

Overview

Maspalomas Princess operates as part of a linked complex with Tabaiba Princess — both share the main free-form pool area, spa, and many facilities, creating a combined scale that belies the individual property's 389-room count. Built in 1997, renovated in 2004, with a 2023 common-area refurbishment and 2019 room updates in some categories — condition varies by room. The 2023 refresh is the most recent update and covers restaurants and bar areas rather than all 389 rooms.

The property is 33 to 37 km from Gran Canaria Airport (LPA) — a 23 to 25-minute drive — in the Maspalomas resort zone. Maspalomas Beach and the protected sand dune system (Maspalomas Dunes, a nature reserve) are 1.5 to 2.5 km away and accessible by foot or taxi. The resort also has its own artificial sandy beach area adjacent to the pools.

For families, the water park with heated winter slides and pools, two children's pools, a Kids Club, and Minidisco are the key draws. The adults-only pool — heated in winter with massage jets and a counter-current swimming lane — offers separation from family zones. The All-Inclusive Plus upgrade unlocks better beverage access: the standard all-inclusive doesn't include fresh juice, premium spirits, specific ice creams, or post-11 PM drinks.

One dining tip that returns in guest reviews: one themed à la carte dinner (Italian at Il Peccato or Asian at Kokoro) is included free per five nights of stay — this is the best food option on the property and worth planning around.

Pros

  • +The adults-only pool is heated in winter with massage jets — one of the better cold-season pools in the Maspalomas zone.
  • +The five-nights-per-stay free specialty restaurant dinner (Il Peccato or Kokoro) is the most straightforwardly good food available — plan your stay to use it.
  • +The shared pool complex with Tabaiba Princess creates a large pool area with over-water bridges and proper scale.

Cons

  • −The standard all-inclusive has real limitations — post-11 PM drinks, fresh juice, premium spirits, and certain ice creams/desserts are excluded. The All-Inclusive Plus upgrade addresses this.
  • −Room condition varies significantly across the 389 rooms — the Prestige Suite has been recently renovated; other categories may not have been.
  • −Evening entertainment noise can carry to nearby rooms — request a room away from the main entertainment stage if you're a light sleeper.

Tips

  • Upgrade to All-Inclusive Plus if you care about beverage quality — the standard package restrictions become noticeable quickly.
  • Use taxis to the Maspalomas Dunes and Meloneras village — both are close enough for a half-day excursion without committing to a full organized tour.
  • Request a room away from the theater stage when booking or at check-in — proximity to evening entertainment is the most common noise complaint.
  • Check the drinks menu at each individual bar to understand what your package covers before ordering.
