Green & Fair Hotel
TUI
Riu Palace Meloneras earns its 5-star designation on two grounds: scale and garden design. The 40,000 square meter tropical gardens surrounding the property are the largest maintained garden space of any RIU property in Gran Canaria, and they're what creates the feeling of resort seclusion even though the hotel has 515 rooms. Guests who want to feel surrounded by greenery rather than poolside concrete find the layout genuinely effective.
This is a half-board property, not all-inclusive. Breakfast and dinner are covered; lunch and drinks are your cost unless you purchase an upgrade. That makes the target guest someone who plans to leave the resort for a midday meal or lunch at the promenade, rather than someone who wants to spend all day drinking poolside without a running tab. The direct access to a car-free oceanfront promenade is practical — strolling or cycling along it is a free, pleasant activity that many guests use daily.
The six pools include two adults-only infinity pools, which give couples and adults a quieter option separate from the family pool area. The resort is not adults-only overall — families with children are welcome, and there's a free mini-club for children aged 4–12. The two swimming environments coexist reasonably well given the garden layout, but noise from the family pool area can carry depending on your room location.
Maspalomas beach is 800 meters away — about a 12-minute walk. The proximity is real but requires putting on shoes and leaving the property. There is no on-site beach. The hotel's promenade access is its nearest coastal feature. Airport (LPA) is 30–40 km, or 26–30 minutes in normal traffic.
