The beach is what makes Riu Oliva Beach worth considering. Grandes Playas in Corralejo is consistently rated among the best beaches in the Canary Islands — a wide, dune-backed stretch of pale sand with the clear, warm Atlantic. When a 3-star budget all-inclusive sits directly in front of that beach, you're getting the same water and sand that guests at more expensive properties access. For guests who prioritize beach quality over room quality, this is a meaningful value proposition.
The tradeoff is clear: this property has not had a major renovation since 2004. The rooms, decor, and some shared facilities reflect that age. Reviews describe dated interiors, especially in the 24 annexe buildings. Pest issues (ants, cockroaches) appear in enough reviews to be treated as a real possibility. If room condition matters as much as beach access, the newer properties in Corralejo are worth the price premium.
The bus stop directly outside the hotel is a practical advantage that guest reviews specifically note — Corralejo town center and its independent restaurants, shops, and nightlife are accessible without a taxi. For guests who want flexibility to eat or drink outside the all-inclusive occasionally, this is genuinely useful.
Practically: 808 rooms across one main building and 24 annexe bungalows, 3-star classification, 29–39 minutes from Fuerteventura Airport (FUE). Last major renovation 2004. Two outdoor pools plus two children's pools. Splash Water World access is not on-site but may be available through the Riu complex. Family-friendly with RiuLand kids' club and the Riu4U teen program.
