TripAdvisor
Grand Sirenis San Andrés opened in November 2023 and positions itself as the first self-sufficient hotel in the region — 65% of its energy comes from renewable sources and 28% of water use comes from rainwater harvesting. For guests who care about environmental credentials and want to verify them, these numbers are specific enough to track. The architecture draws from the local Raizal community aesthetic: warm tones and functional lines that feel different from the standard Caribbean all-inclusive box.
The location is practical: 1.7 km from Gustavo Rojas Pinilla Airport (five minutes), and Spratt Bight Beach is a 500-meter walk. The island's famous Seven Colors Sea — where water transitions through distinct color bands due to depth and seagrass — is accessible from this beach area. There's no private beach at the resort itself, which means beach time involves a short walk to a public stretch rather than a gated exclusive section.
At 236 rooms with three specialty restaurants (Italian, Brazilian rodizio, main buffet) and one included Japanese option (Ikebana), the dining program is smaller than most 5-star all-inclusives but appropriate for the resort's scale. The spa at 600 sq m was not fully operational during initial opening phases in late 2023 — this is documented in early guest reviews. Verify spa availability with the hotel before booking if that's a priority.
Practical caveats worth knowing for a new resort: some advertised services weren't consistently available in the first year of operation, including à la carte booking issues via the resort app and the spa. The buffet receives consistently strong reviews; the a la carte booking process less so. Being a new property on a Colombian island destination means expectations should account for early-stage operational variability.
