The single most practical feature of Grand Decameron Cornwall Beach is its airport proximity. At 0.6 to 2 km from Sangster International Airport, the transfer is under 6 minutes — the fastest of any all-inclusive resort in Jamaica, and meaningfully different from the 1.5-2 hour drives common at other Jamaican properties. For guests who dread long post-flight transfers, or who are connecting to other destinations and want minimal transit time, this is a genuine competitive advantage.
The resort opened in 2016 and underwent a major renovation in 2024 — it presents as the newer and cleaner of the two Decameron Montego Bay properties. All 146 rooms have either beach or ocean views; there's no garden-view category. The Stay at 1, Play at More policy extends the resort's effective footprint to include all restaurants, bars, pools, gym, spa, and entertainment at the adjacent Grand Decameron Montego Beach — effectively doubling the amenity set without doubling the room rate.
The main documented limitations are dining depth and room count. With two on-site restaurants (Jamrock buffet and Oliva à la carte Mediterranean), the Cornwall Beach-only dining program is thin for a week-long stay. The sister property adds two more specialty restaurants (Souk Jamaican fusion and Passa Passa buffet), bringing the combined total to something more manageable. Buffet quality receives mixed reviews — guests praise the variety but note inconsistency in freshness during off-peak periods.
At 146 rooms, Cornwall Beach is intimate by Jamaican all-inclusive standards. The beach fronts Cornwall Beach, which has warm, clear water and is walkable to the Hip Strip — Montego Bay's main street for local bars, duty-free shopping, and restaurants. Doctor's Cave Beach is within walking distance. This location makes Cornwall Beach one of the more accessible Jamaican resorts for guests who want to leave the property.
