The availability of two heated outdoor pools within Esencia, along with access to multiple pools in the main complex, is a significant positive for guests.
Reliable Connectivity
Good Wi-Fi connectivity throughout the complex is frequently mentioned, allowing guests to stay connected during their holiday.
Friendly Staff Encounters
Many guests commend the friendly and excellent demeanor of specific staff members, enhancing their overall experience at the resort.
Dining Variety & Quality
A recurring concern is the perceived lack of variety and quality in food offerings, especially in Esencia's exclusive restaurant and the main buffet, which can become repetitive.
Room Cleanliness Issues
Some guests report cleanliness problems, including insects like ants and cockroaches, unpleasant odors, and overlooked details in rooms.
Inconsistent Service
Feedback on service is mixed; while some staff are praised, others are noted for being unhelpful or inconsistent, leading to varied guest experiences.
Potential for Noise
Evening entertainment can be loud, potentially impacting sleep for families or those seeking early quiet, and some restaurants have late opening hours.

Esencia de Fuerteventura operates as a distinct zone within the larger Fuerteventura Princess resort — not a standalone property. Built in 2013, it has its own pools, its own restaurant (El Mirador), and a separate pool bar and chill-out bar, but shares the beach, entertainment, and broader amenities of the main hotel. Guests staying in the Esencia rooms pay for this access as part of their booking; Fuerteventura Princess guests staying outside the Esencia section can upgrade access for an additional daily charge.
The setup makes practical sense for guests who want a slightly quieter retreat on a large resort's grounds. Esquinzo Beach is long, sandy, and one of the better natural beaches in the south of Fuerteventura. The two heated outdoor Esencia pools stay open year-round, which matters in the Canary Islands winter when air temperatures are comfortable but pool water needs management. The sea views from the exclusive area are consistently praised as genuine highlights.
From November 1, 2026, Esencia converts to adults-only (16+). For families planning a trip before that date, the current mixed-guest configuration is still in effect. For couples or groups without children, the upcoming adults-only status makes planning easier after that date.
The honest limitations: food quality in the Esencia restaurant and the shared buffet draws criticism for repetition, and certain drinks (including fresh orange juice at breakfast) cost extra on the standard all-inclusive. Cleanliness in some rooms has received complaints. The airport is 77–80 km away. Dinner dress code at El Mirador requires long trousers and sleeved shirts for men.
